CASology #277: ROUND

Hello, friends!  Tuesday has arrived, and so has a new cue at CASology.

This week our sponsor, Kitty Bee Designs, shared some digi images with the Design Team and I decided to play with the round snowball in the Snow Penguin image!  I accentuated the "round" theme by dry embossing a stitched circle and inking inside it around the penguin.  I also filled in the snowball with Stickles for some shimmer!

I can't wait to see how you interpret the ROUND cue card this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!

Fusion: Red Christmas

Hello, friends!  I'm stopping in to share my card for the current Fusion "Red Christmas" challenge using the photo as my inspiration. (I liked the red poinsettia and the border around the plate as well as the gold accents in the background.)

I knew I wanted to play along when I saw the beautiful CAS card by design team member Michelle Lupton.  For my card, I dry embossed the wonky stitched rectangles in the center of my card panel, then masked the center off after stamping the sentiment.  I repeatedly stamped the poinsettias around the border of the card base, then spritzed with Perfect Pearls mist and added gold Stickles to the floral centers.  Finally, I removed the mask and die cut the card panel and mounted on a white card base.

Supplies:
Stamps: Jane's Doodles (Vintage Christmas),  Hero Arts (Joy to All)
Inks: Memento (Tuxedo Black), Adirondack (Red Pepper), distress inks (Shabby Shutters)
Other: Perfect Pearls mist (Heirloom Gold), gold Stickles

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Take good care,
Judy

Just Add Ink #387

Helo, everyone!  Just stopping by to share a card I'm entering into the current Just Add Ink #387: Colour challenge using these colors:

I made a one-layer card by stamping a border of poinsettias in red (and re-stamping without inking for the lighter ones), adding the sentiment in the center, then splattering green ink all over the card.  The gold Stickles were a final accent for some sparkle.

Supplies:
Stamps: Jane's Doodles (Vintage Christmas),  Hero Arts (Joy to All)
Inks: Memento (Tuxedo Black), Adirondack (Red Pepper), distress inks (Shabby Shutters)
Other: Gold Stickles

I hope everyone here is the U.S. had a wonderful Thanksgiving...I am thankful for your visits and all of your support all year long!

Have a great day,
Judy

CASology #276: CHEER

Hello, friends!  It's time to spread some CHEER this week at CASology!

I have been working on a bunch of holiday cards for the Caring Hearts Card Drive (info HERE) in order to share some holiday cheer with nursing home residents.  The new line of "Typographia" stamps by our sponsor, STAMPlorations, are all amazing and I used one called "Blessed Christmas."   I kept it clean and simple by letting the multi-color sentiment take center stage, while the embossed snowflake border and subtle inking add some fun, seasonal interest.

After inking the sentiment several times with different colors, I inked the entire thing with Versamark ink and clear embossed it for some shine.  Can you see it?

I'm going to enter this card into the current STAMPlorations November CAS Card Challenge as well as the STAMPlorations Never-ending Anything Goes Challenge.  (Part of my sentiment is dark brown, so I guess I did the optional color twist a little bit!)

I can't wait to see how you interpret the CHEER cue card this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!

Just Add Ink #386: Just Add "R"

Hello, friends!  I'm sneaking in a quick post today to share a card I made for a new-to-me challenge called Just Add Ink.  This week the challenge is a letter challenge...we are asked to make a card that uses an "R" element as the main focus of the project.

I've been working on holiday cards to send on for the Caring Hearts Card Drive, and this is one of them.  There are several "R's" involved here: a round die cut, a round wreath, red gems and glitter tape, and two red robins.

I received the stamp and embossing folder as part of an older Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine.  I was happy to get a chance to play with them...they were perfect for this challenge!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Take good care,
Judy

CASology #275: SHARP

Hello, friends!  Tuesday has arrived, and so has a new cue at CASology.

Lots of things came to mind when I saw this cue...a sharp mind, a sharp tongue, sharp wit, a sharp dressed man (yes, that's a nod to ZZ Top), a sharp knife, sharp pine needles from a Christmas tree (they seem to remain in our hardwood floors all year long!).

I finally decided on a card using a fun get well image and sentiment from Art Impressions. That needle sure looks sharp to me!

I added interest to all that white space by dry embossing a wonky rectangle stitched frame and then using stitched dies to cut out the sentiment and the main panel.  I thought the "stitch" pattern went well with the theme of the card!

I can't wait to see how you interpret the SHARP cue card this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team interpreted the cue this week...be sure to visit their blogs, too!

AAA Cards #103 / ATSAM #267

Hello, friends!  Just stopping in on a rainy Monday afternoon to share a card I made for my sweet niece, Adrienne.  I am entering this card into to challenges:

I tried to keep my design clean and simple by using one main image and sentiment with minimal layers and lots of open space.  The image is a digital freebie, and I computer-generated the sentiment so I could personalize it with my niece's name.  I "made my mark" by coloring the image with Copic markers and subtly inking the background with distress inks.

I hope you enjoy your day. Thanks so much for stopping by!

CASology #274: TINY

Hello, friends!  It's that time again...Tuesday is here, and so is a new cue at CASology.

This cue made me think of how tiny we are in the grand scheme of the universe.  Last spring my family and I took a trip to Iceland, and we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights and more stars than I have ever seen here in the USA.  The tour guide who was with us had an amazing camera and took pictures of what we were seeing...check out the Northern Light and the Milky Way!

If that sight doesn't make you feel like a tiny part of the universe, I don't know what will.

Yet, tiny though we may be, we can make an enormous difference in our world.

One of my favorite quotes by Dr. Seuss is, "To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world."

These themes inspired my card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Paper Smooches (Pretty Phrases, Smarty Pants)
Inks: Memento (Tuxedo Black), distress inks (Faded Jeans, Tumbled Glass, Peeled Paint, Twisted Citron)
Dies: MFT (Wonky Stitched Rectangles)
Other: Perfect Pearls Mists (Perfect Pearl)

To make my planet Earth, I used the globe from the "Smarty Pants" set and fussy cut it out of the stand.  I watercolored with distress inks, then spritzed it with Perfect Pearls Mist for some shimmer.

With this card, I'm going to throw my hat in the ring for the December Guest Designer search at Paper Smooches.

I can't wait to see how you interpret the TINY cue card this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!

CAS on Sunday #120: Sweet 16

Hello, friends!  I'm stopping by today to share a card I made for the current Challenge #120 at CAS on Sunday to make a card with numbers on it.

My daughter has to go to a "Sweet Sixteen" birthday party, so this challenge came just at the right time!

I started out by dry embossing a white card panel, then die cutting the number "16" on the panel as well as onto a piece of foam and a piece of patterned paper.  I adhered the patterned paper numbers to the foam, ran a fuchsia marker around the edges, then reinserted them into the white panel for dimension.  I kept it clean and simple by maintaining lots of white space, only adding a few pink gems for sparkle.

Thanks to a heads up from the lovely Ardyth, I am also entering this card in this week's Muse Challenge #241 with this inspiration photo from Anita Bowden.  I love the look of dry embossing on a white card base!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Precious Remembrance Shop Fall Treat Bag

Hello, friends!  I am stopping by today to share a project I made using some amazing new products from Precious Remembrance Shop.

Dyane recently released a line of paper "bits and pieces" as well as planner stickers that coordinate perfectly with existing PRS stamp sets.  I absolutely love them all!  Now that November has arrived, I am so excited to play with the "Fall Colors" Bits & Pieces set! (There are 75 pieces in this set, so you can play a LOT!)

Here is a picture of what is included in the set:

For my project, I made a fall treat bag.  This set made it so easy!

First, I dry-embossed the base of the bag with a woodgrain embossing folder.  I thought the woodgrain went well with the fall leaf theme of the bag.

Next, I lined up the leaves and taped them in place with black striped washi tape.  I mounted the hello square on black paper and added the "little moments" tab above it.

Once the bag top was folded over, I added a folded lace doily and then clipped it shut with two extra leaves from the set and a black bow.

Isn't this just the cutest fall treat bag?  I must say, I am very pleased with it ... and it could not have been easier!

Be sure to check out the other "bits and pieces" sets in the Precious Remembrance Shop store!  As always, thanks for stopping by!
