CASology #213: STITCH

Hello, friends!  It's time for the next CASology cue card!

For my card, I used the Hero Arts "Sew Artsy" set along with patterned paper ("Picadilly" by Basic Grey).  The border is embossed with the Cuttlebug "Pinking Stitch" embossing folder...a perfect fit for the cue this week!

After cutting down the card stock for my original card, I had some extra paper so I made a smaller card.  I used the same stamp set and patterned paper as well as a border embossing folder from the same Cuttlebug set.

Here they are together...

I can't wait to see who you interpret the cue this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). For more inspiration, be sure to visit our Design Team and Guest Designer blogs, too!

CASology #212: FUN

Hello, friends!  Happy Tuesday!  We are going to have some FUN this week at CASology!

I think most of us who enjoy making cards have a lot of fun doing what we love...I know I do!  That was the inspiration behind my card...a combination of a great free digi sentiment and a sweet painting bunny!  I subtly colored the background with distress inks to add interest to my white space while still keeping it clean and simple.

Stamps:
"Do What You Love" free download digital sentiment from Inspired by Stamping
Bunny and grass - Gerda Steiner Designs "Brush Bunny"

I'm also linking my card up to the Inspired by Stamping Customer Gallery and the Gerda Steiner Designs 24th Share Your Designs Challenge.

Be sure to link up your FUN card by noon on Monday (Central time).  Check out the Design Team members and our Guest Designer for more inspiration this week...their cards are super FUN!

If you are hopping in order, you should have arrived here from the wonderful blog of Sandra Gonzalez.

Of course, there are prizes to be won as part of the hop, too!  Clique Kits is offering a $20.00 gift certificate to their shop, and Precious Remembrance Shop is giving away a "Totally" stamp set. Winners will be chosen by comments left on the blogs in the hop.

When I received my kit, I immediately opened up all the goodies and laid them out so I could mentally grasp all the goodness in that box.  Wow...so much to play with in one box!

These are all the paper die cuts...
Alphabet stickers...

 Fun variety of stickers...

Journaling cards, tags, sequins, flair, and punch-out dies...

 Close-up of the rub-ons...

Close-up of the cut aparts...

 Close-up of the bling...

Check out these amazing two-sided papers!  Here is one side...
 Here is the other side...
Can I just say I love the fun colors and the theme of this kit?  LOVE!!!

After I let it all sink in, I ultimately decided to do a 12x12 scrapbook layout of my daughters since there are so many cute phrases for sisters in this kit.  I also thought the stamps in the PRS "Totally" set went perfectly with my theme!

I used one of the journaling cards to stamp my main sentiment using Liquid Platinum embossing powder and Stone ink, then I added some fun stickers to jazz it up.

I stamped Me/You/Us in black ink on one of the paper labels.

I hand-wrote my daughters' names and the date of the pictures on one of the coordinating tags and used a tiny heart sticker to fill some space.  The top and bottom borders are all from the enclosed patterned papers. (A little secret: they are the little extra strip at the bottom so when you cut them off the paper is 12x12!)

I am so excited to have this kit because I can think of several other projects...including cards...to make with these pretty Clique Kits papers and my Precious Remembrance Shop stamp sets.

OK, time to hop along!  Your next stop in the hop is the uber-talented Deidre Payne!

Thanks for stopping by!

Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #16

Hello, everyone!  This is my second post of the day.  For my CASology post, go HERE.

I am happy to be here with a card for the current Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #16 using this awesome inspiration board:

For my project today, I chose to work with the bottom row across: Clothespin/ Birthday/ Patterned Paper.

I have had this little clothespin in my stash for so long, I can't tell you how happy I was to have some motivation to use it on a card!  I also love this Anna Griffin patterned paper card base; I pulled colors from the paper into the WPlus9 florals I stamped on the notebook paper die.  Easy, quick, and pretty!

Card Supplies:
Stamps: WPlus9 (Happy Wishes)
Inks: MFT (Black Licorice dye ink), various Tim Holtz distress inks
Dies: MFT (DieNamics 3x4 Notebook Paper)
Other: Anna Griffin patterned paper, mini clothespin, twine, Glossy Accents

I'm also entering this card into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Let's Go Wild showcasing WPlus9 products.  I love the wild flowers and the wild card base I combined on the card.

I am really looking forward to your take on the inspiration board for the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #16...  I hope you get a chance to play along!  Thank you for stopping by today!

CASology #211: DREAM

Hello, friends!  I'm here today with my card for the new cue card up at CASology!

I love this sentiment from STAMPlorations, our sponsor this week.  It is great for graduation cards, but I don't have a big need for them in my stash.  Birthday cards, however, are a different story altogether.

I know this is not your typical birthday card, but I do know people who really enjoy...and may even dream about...cupcakes.  (And cake.  And chocolate.)  The inside of this card will likely have a birthday sentiment along the lines of "enjoy your birthday."  You get the idea, I'm sure!

I printed the digi image (Two Cupcakes) and die cut into a square, then inked the edges and popped up on foam tape.  This can add some fun to an otherwise simple CAS card!

Supplies:
Stamps:  STAMPlorations "Noteworthy" and free digi "Two Cupcakes"
Inks:  Hero Arts black dye ink, Tumbled Glass distress ink
Other:  Simon Says Stamp stitched square die, foam tape

I'm adding this to the STAMPlorations Never-Ending Anything Goes Challenge since I used all of their products!

I can't wait to see what you dream up with this cue card!  Be sure to link up your DREAM card by noon on Monday (Central time). If you need more inspiration, check out our Design Team and Guest Designer this week, too!

CASology #210: DIZZY

Hello, friends!  I'm happy to be here with my card for the new cue card at CASology!

As I get older, more and more things make me dizzy.  Rides.  Flying.  Standing up too fast!  The other day my husband brought home a bottle of red wine after an afternoon work/golf outing at a local winery.  We watched the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics and I had a half of a glass of wine.  Within 20 minutes I felt dizzy and soon after I fell asleep!  (Man, what has happened to me?  I'm a total lightweight.)

And that, my friends, was the inspiration for my card.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink (Signature Greetings), Sweet Stamp Shop (Happy Hour)
Other:  Copic markers, glitter pen, stitched rectangle die

I love how the glitter pen adds some sparkle...I added it to the bubbles, the glass rim on the right, and the edge of the die cut rectangle frame.

What makes you DIZZY?  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!

I {Heart} Sketches with a tWist #160

Hello, friends!  I'm here today with a card I made for the current From the Heart
I {Heart} Sketches with a tWist #160 using this fun sketch:

The twist this week is to use cool blues and/or water on your card.  I definitely went with the blues...in more ways than one!  (I also rotated the sketch to better fit my vertical image.)

I really, really, really love this birdbrain character.  One of these days I'll bring myself to color him in a color other than yellow.

I added some fun white dots with a white gel pen to the mug...but even a fun mug like this isn't cheering up this fella on a Monday morning.

Thanks for stopping by today...have a great day!
Judy

Supplies:
Stamps: From the Heart digital stamps "Birdbrain Needs Coffee" set
Other: Copic markers, white gel pen, rectangle stitched die, dotted embossing folder, patterned paper
