The 12 Kits of Occasions - February Guest Designer!

Hello, friends!  I am so excited to be here today as a Guest Designer for the February 12 Kits of Occasions!  My name was randomly drawn in January as a winner, and so I received this awesome kit full of goodies from Renee in order to play along as a guest designer this month!  (Thank you, Renee!)

Here is the theme...how perfect where, in my neck of the wood, we have been "snowblind" for so much of this winter!

Our kit included all sorts of snowmen and snowflakes and snow goodies!  Here is a glimpse of the kit contents:

Here are my cards...you will soon be able to tell how much fun I had with my supplies!

Even after all that, I still have lots of goodies left over...I'll have to see what the other designers created so I can CASE them!

Be sure to check out The 12 Kits of Occasions blog and all the amazing Design Team entries...they are quite amazing!

CASology #84: PAINT

Hello, friends!  Welcome to a new week at CASology with a new cue word!

I have a confession to make.  I have a "neatness" compulsion of sorts, and paint and splatter are not among my favorite things in life.  (You do not want to see how meticulously I prep a room before we paint in our house.  Yikes!)

Although out of my usual comfort range, I purchased the Hero Arts "Brush Strokes" cling stamp set after seeing several cards made by the super-uber-talented Donna Mikasa (you can see her blog HERE).  I bought it over a year ago but never opened it...honestly I felt threatened by it!  However, when I saw the cue for this week, I knew it was time.   (Deep breaths!)

Sentiment by Papertrey Ink

Funny thing...after I got over the fear of it all, I made two more cards!  This time, I added some yellow splatters, a yellow paint strip across the sentiment area, and some coordinating enamel dots.

Sentiment by Sweet Stamp Shop

I can't wait to see what the cue word means to you this week!  Be sure to link up your card by 4PM on Sunday.  Check out the inspiring work by our awesome Guest Designer and Design Team, too!

CASology #83: JUMP

Hello, friends!  Happy Tuesday!  It's time to JUMP into our new weekly challenge cue at CASology!

When I hear the word JUMP, I think of lots of things...jumping rope, playing hopscotch, jumping in puddles, songs with the word "jump," animals that hop and jump.  Animals!  That's the path I followed for my card, using all Paper Smooches supplies.  I combined a computer-generated sentiment ("Jumpin' by to say...") with a Paper Smooches birthday sentiment so the whole card made sense to me!

I hope you'll JUMP in and join in the fun this week!  Be sure to check out our amazing Guest Designer and Design Team cards as well...you'll be sure to find some inspiration!  You can upload your projects until 4:00 p.m. Sunday.

Merry Mondays #95: Sending Christmas Joy

Hello, friends!  Once again, we have been off due to snow...and so I was able to make a card for the Merry Monday Challenge #95 to use an animal on your Christmas card.

I have an old Penny Black stamp that I couldn't wait to ink up for this challenge.  Don't these penguins look like they are just having a blast?  :)

I added glitter pen to the white fur hats and white enamel accents for snow...hard to see in the above picture, but easier to see it in this close-up!

Thanks for stopping by...enjoy your day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello, friends!  Just stopping by to wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day!

My sweetheart (husband) gave me my first Valentine when we were seniors in high school.  I still have it and cherish it...26 years later!  Even then I somehow knew he was the one, but I never could have imagined just how much I would grow to love him with each passing day.  He is my forever Valentine.

So...on to the cards!  I have two cards to share -- both were sent to Winter for the Cards from the Heart card drive.  They both feature free digi images from Jane's Doodles and a sentiment from Hero Arts; the subtle gingham background is a "cover-a-card" stamp from Impression Obsession.  I love the effect of a few white Inkssentials gel pen dots on the images!

I am entering these into the current Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge because I've used two of my favorite types of stamps -- rubber stamps and digi images!  I also enjoy coloring images -- I used my Copics to color these.

Edited to add:
Here is another card I made for the Cards from the Heart drive...this one is dedicated to all my sweet blogland friends!

As always, thanks for stopping by...and Happy Valentine's Day!

CASology #82: BOLD

Hello, friends!  It's Tuesday, and you know what that means, right?  Yep!  It's time for our next CASology cue!  (We had a great week last week with so many CAS entries...way to go!)

This week we are sponsored by Uniko Studio and guess what?  It is their 2nd birthday!  Hooray and Happy Birthday! Check out all the details at the CASology blog.

I recently won this awesome Impression Obsession "Floral Lace Heart" die (thanks, Tiffany!) and I couldn't wait to pair it with some bold, hot pink glitter paper.  A larger die image such as this can really stand alone as the main image on a clean and simple card with minimal additions necessary, don't you think?

This card is going to my mom -- her birthday is on Valentine's Day!

I'm also entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge (We Love Stamps) as well as the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Have a Heart."

I can't wait to see what BOLD means to you!  Upload your cards by 4PM on Sunday, and check out the Design Team and Guest Designer cards this week, too...you will be amazed!

Merry Monday #94: Use a Stocking!

Hello, friends!  I was so excited to see my last Merry Monday card submission listed as an Honorable Mention (thank you!!)...so I had to come back again this week to play!

I was happy to see the new theme this week at Merry Monday -- to use a stocking or stockings on your Christmas card.  Fun!

I have a cute old Stampin' Up! set that included a country-style stocking, and I was happy to be able to play with it!  I colored the image with Copics and added Glossy Accents to the buttons for some interest.  The sentiment is Hero Arts.

Now I'm off to check out the Design Team cards and some of the submissions...and I'm just tickled that my Christmas card stash is growing!

Thanks, as always, for stopping by!

Dynamic Duos #88: You Make Life Fun

Hello, friends!  This is my second post for the day...for my CASology post, scroll down or go HERE.

I am here to share a card I made for the current Dynamic Duos Challenge #88 to use red and teal on a card.

I had fun playing with some Jane's Doodles stamps (digi image, clear stamp sentiment).

The bright snow outside is making my cards all photograph funky (the red card base looked pink when I first took the picture!)

I'm also entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: "Love Notes."

We were all off yesterday for yet another snow day, and while I made cards two of my kids had a good time making a snowman...it was the perfect heavy, wet snow for such a task!  (Yes, apparently this snowman has no arms but can still play hockey!)

We are bracing for more snow later in the week...this is not very typical for New Jersey!

Anyway, I thank you for stopping by...have a good one!

CASology #81: AND

Hello, friends!  This week's CASology cue is going to be a fun one!

This week our sponsor is STAMPlorations...be sure to check out all the details at the CASology blog!

I was so excited to see this cue because one of the stamp sets I received for Christmas was the Papertrey Ink "Grand Ampersand."  What a great reason to break it out to play!  I paired it with an old Hero Arts "Paisley Heart" image stamped in Bubble Gum mid tone ink and finished with a few clear gems.  Easy!

I look forward to seeing all your creations this week.  Be sure to upload your entries by 4PM on Sunday.  In the meantime, check out the inspiring work by our amazing Guest Designer and awesome Design Team!

Have a good one AND thanks for visiting!

CAS on Sunday #26: Making the Rounds

Here we go again...

Hello, friends!  I am home once again, enjoying yet another snow day off with my children, and the snow continues to come down fast and furious!   I'm inside, safe and warm, making cards until the snow ends and the shoveling begins.  Again.

CAS On Sunday Challenge

Today I'm playing along with the current CAS on Sundays Challenge #26 "Making the Rounds" challenge to make a card that is a circle.

I embossed a sweet Penny Black image in black on watercolor paper, painted it with watercolors, then used my circle Spellbinders dies.  The subtle background clouds are from Hero Arts and the sentiment is from the Sweet Stamp Shop

OK, I'm off to check out the cards by the Design Team this week...and the submissions, too.  Thanks for stopping by!

Addicted to CAS #31: Be My Valentine

Hello, friends! I'm happy to be able to play along for the first time at Addicted to CAS (Challenge #31) where the code word is LOVE.

I am now in Valentine mode...I made a bunch of cards for the 5th Annual "Cards from the Heart" Valentine's Day Card Drive and sent them in, and now I have to start on Valentine's Day cards for my family. We like to send cards to my young nieces and nephews...it's always fun to get a letter in the mail!

Be sure to check out the wonderful cards that the Design Team made at Addicted to CAS this week...there is lots of inspiration over there!

Thanks for stopping by!
