Hello, friends!  It may seem crazy, but a few days before the July 4th celebration of Independence Day here in the USA, I am stopping by with a Christmas card!  (I can hear firworks in the distance as I write this post...too funny!)

I'm playing along with the current challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #248: Holiday!

The Challenge #88 & SSS Wednesday Challenge

Hello, friends!  I'm back again today with another card I made using the "Dragonflies" stamps from our sponsor at CASology this week, Rubber Dance Stamps.

I'm linking this card up to a few challenges:

(1) The Challenge #88: Keywords -- I used the key words "watercolor" and "square."

I cut a stitched square from a Concord & 9th watercolored card base and stamped the dragonfly image twice using my Mini Misti; the first time I stamped it with distress ink, then I restamped it with Versamark ink and embossed it with Iridescent Sparkle embossing powder.

Supplies:
Stamps: Rubber Dance Stamps (Dragonflies)
Inks: distress ink (Peacock Feathers), Versamark Ink
Dies: Simon Says Stamp (Stitched Squares)
Other: JudiKins (Iridescent Sparkle embossing powder), Concord & 9th (card stock)

Rubber Dance June Challenge & CASology HOUSE

Hello, friends!  How do you like the new look of my blog?  I decided it was time for a new look and I am so thrilled with it!

I am still playing with my house stamps from Rubber Dance Stamps since that is the theme at CASology this week.  Here is another card to inspire you to play along!

I am also entering this card in the current Rubber Dance Stamps June Theme Challenge centered around "Summer Holidays."

Now that summer vacation has arrived, my kids find that a lot of their friends go to the shore for the summer holiday and we don't get to see them very often.  That was the inspiration behind my card!

Supplies:
Stamps: Rubber Dance Stamps (Textured Houses); Paper Smooches (Sentiment Sampler)
Inks: MFT (Black Licorice); Copic markers
Dies: MFT (Blueprints 20)
Other: Patterned paper

I selectively colored only one house so that it would match the colored papers of the matte and the card base.  It also makes it stand out, as if it is our house but all the others have gone for the summer.

Thanks for checking out my card.  I house you will play along with CASology this week, where  Rubber Dance Stamps is our sponsor!

Take good care,
Judy

CASology #254: HOUSE

Hello, friends!  I'm happy to be here today with my card for the new cue at CASology this week.

I was lucky enough to be able to play with the "Textured Houses" stamps from our sponsor, Rubber Dance Stamps, for this week's challenge.  Check out these fun stamps!

In order to keep my card clean and simple, I decided to not add any color to the row of textured houses. Instead, I kept them black and white, masked them, and subtly inked the background with distress inks.  A die cut black frame added some interest without making the design too busy.

Supplies:
Stamps: Rubber Dance (Textured Houses); Simon Says Stamp (Handwritten Sentiments)
Inks: Versamark Ink, distress inks (Tumbled Glass, Shabby Shutters)
Other: Black embossing powder, Mama Elephant Index Card Creative Cuts

I can't wait to see how you interpret the HOUSE cue card this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!

Happy Father's Day

Hello, friends!  Happy Father's Day to all those celebrating today.

I want to share a card I made for my husband using the new "Wave" stamp set from The Ton.  I fell in love with this layering stamp as soon as I saw the amazing cards made by the Design Team and I ordered it right away.  I am so glad I did!  I also order the "Penned Sentiments" set and love the font.  Love!

Supplies:
Stamps: The Ton (Wave, Penned Sentiments)
Inks: MFT (Black Licorice); Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Broken China); Hero Arts (Navy die ink)
Other: Water color paper

I think my husband will appreciate this, particularly because he is our main vacation planner and we have always loved going places with beaches.  When the kids were little, we always spent a week at the shore and hours on the beach -- in the water, jumping waves, swimming, playing in the sand, flying kites, going for walks.  For our twentieth anniversary (almost two years ago), we all went to Hawaii and spent hours on different beaches all over the island of O'ahu, swimming, snorkeling, even taking surfing lessons.  This summer we are returning to the shore for another week's vacation -- even though our kids are all teens and pre-teens, we still love spending time near the ocean.  That's why I knew this stamp set would be perfect for my husband's Father's Day card.

I'm linking my card up to a few challenges.

(1) Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #246: Anything Goes

(2) Muse Challenge #220 - Here is Tracey McNeely's Muse card and I was inspired to follow the same theme, a Happy Fathers Day card.

(3) Inkspirational Challenge #137: Photo Inkspiration.  I saw this big splash of blue flowers on that wall and thought of the big splash of an ocean wave!  I know my blues are a different shade, but the splash is real!

(4) CAS Watercolor Card Challenge: Watercolor June Challenge.  I used watercolor cardstock and spritzed my stamped image with water before stamping...hoping this counts?

(5) Happy Little Stampers June Watercolor Challenge - Anything Goes. (Thanks for the tip, Kylie!)

Thanks again for stopping by...enjoy the day!

CASology #252: INSECT

Hello, friends!  I'm here today with a card for the new cue at CASology.

So, before I made my card I decided to look up the word "insect" to make sure I had the right stamps in mind.  Here is the definition I found:

*******************************************************************************************************

insectnounAny of numerous arthropod animals of the class Insecta, having an adult stage characterized by three pairs of legs and a body segmented into head, thorax, and abdomen and usually having one or two pairs of wings. Insects include the flies, crickets, mosquitoes, beetles, butterflies, and bees.

*******************************************************************************************************

I had a butterfly in mind, but I wanted to make sure it was an insect before I started my card!

As luck would have it, I went shopping with my daughter last weekend and there was a really pretty tag on a pair of shorts she bought.  I kept it so I could use it for my inspiration!

Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts (Good Friends, Traditional Butterfly)
Inks: MFT (Black Licorice); Distress Inks (Peacock Feathers, Worn Lipstick)
Other: clear acrylic block; water spritzer; white gel pen

I'm also entering this card into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where the theme is "Anything Goes."

I can't wait to see how you interpret the INSECT cue card this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!
