Graduation Cards 2019

Hello, friends! Now that June is coming to an end, I can safely share all the graduation cards and graduation thank you notes I made this spring.

My youngest son graduated from 8th grade and is heading off to high school in the fall...so hard to believe. I also have a daughter who just finished junior year of high school, and many of her friends were seniors who graduated this spring. Therefore, I was in need of lots of graduation cards for both boys and girls!

Here is the card design I used for the female cards this year (I made many, just changed out the hair color depending on the recipient). These cards feature the Unity Stamp Company graduation stamp sets including "You Did Good," "Graduation Wishes,"and "Sentiments for Graduates."

Here is the card deign I used for the male cards I made this year (with the same idea re: hair color):

I also made two different thank you card designs for my son to use for all the gifts he received. I bought a package of textured thank you cards at Michael's and added some graduation accents such as the Paper Smooches "Grad Cap die"and the Unity male graduate image again:

That's it for today...thanks for visiting!
Take good care,
Judy

Cards Featuring WPlus9

Hello, friends!  I'm back again to share two more cards I made during my "welcome to summer vacation stamping and watercoloring" day of fun!

These two cards feature stamps by WPlus9, including the "Happy Wishes" and "Doodle Buds" sets.

For my first card, I die cut a piece of watercolor paper and stamped the sentiment.  Next, I stamped the flower images, masking each one and layering as I went along.  Finally, I watercolored the flowers with distress inks and splattered some ink for interest. I layered the image on black card stock and mounted to a stamped card base.

For my second card, I was inspired by this card by WPlus9 owner and designer Dawn Woleslagle (found HERE):

Again, I started out with a die cut watercolor paper rectangle, then stamped the images and sentiment from the "Doodle Buds" set.  I watercolored with distress inks, added some splatters, and adhered a die cut butterfly. Finally, I layered it on black card stock and mounted on a red card base.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today...I know I enjoyed making them!
Have a great day,
Judy

Card Set Featuring Pretty Pink Posh

Hello, friends!  I'm finished work for the summer and treated myself to a few new stamps. What better way to begin summer vacation than to spend a day stamping and watercoloring for fun!

These cards are really just meant to add to my depleted stash...not for any challenges or anything, just made out of pure enjoyment!

My recent purchases included two sets from Pretty Pink Posh. I love the pretty hummingbirds in the "Hummingbird Thanks" set, and I adore the sentiments in the "Thoughtful Greetings" set.  Paired together they make a great multi-purpose card -- I'm thinking birthday cards.

First, I die cut watercolor paper using some stitched rectangle dies (wonky and regular). Next, I stamped the images and sentiment and watercolored using distress inks, also flicking some speckles of distress ink on the backgrounds. Finally, I adhered the rectangles mounted on black card stock onto the stamped or embossed card bases and added sequins for some sparkle.

Here are my cards:

These cards were a lot of fun to make and it was so nice to watercolor...what a great way to relax and start vacation!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Happy Father's Day!

Hello, friends! Just stopping in to share the Father's Day card I made for my husband.

I recently purchased the "Father's Day Stamp Set" from Pretty Pink Posh and I was excited to use it for his card!  I was totally inspired by THIS card by Gemma on the PPP design team.

I colored the trophy with colored pencils, added some white gel pen highlights, highlighted the background with distress ink, and framed it with a Simon Says Stamp/Memory Box "Ariana" die cut wreath. Clean and simple!

That's it for today, thanks so much for stopping by!
