CASology #226: CANDLE

Hello, friends! Get ready to blow out some candles..our new cue card at CASology is up!

This week the design team members were invited to play with a few digital images provided by our generous sponsor, Kitty Bee Designs.  I was having so much fun with them that I used two images and made two cards for the occasion!

I printed both images under the Kitty Bee Designs digital birthday sentiment, then I die cut them into tags.  Once in tag form, I colored both with Copic markers and had fun mounting them to cards!

First up...a cute digital image called "Happy Birthday Kitty."  She reminds me of "Hello, Kitty" and I know one of my nieces will love this birthday card!

My next card uses Kitty Bee Designs "Birthday Bee" digital image.  I die cut the tag and inlaid it into an embossed background to add interest to all that white space.  I added Wink of Stella to the wings for some extra fun!

Supplies Used:
Digital Stamps: Kitty Bee Designs (Birthday Bee, Birthday Kitty, Happy Birthday sentiment)
Dies: My Favorite Things Die-Namics (Pierced Traditional Tag STAX)
Embossing Folders: Sizzix/Hero Arts (Chevrons); Cuttlebug (Gingham)
Other:  Copic markers; Wink of Stella; various ribbons

I can't wait to see what CANDLE brings to mind for you this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). Stop by our Design Team and Guest Designer blogs for more inspiration!

Sale at Precious Remembrance Shop!

Hello, friends!  I'm stopping by today to give you a heads up...in honor of the approaching Thanskgiving holiday here in the US, there is a big week-long sale going on at Precious Remembrance Shop!

The sale starts today (Wednesday, November 23rd) and will run through Wednesday, November 30th.  There will be amazing deals on lots of stamps, with sales starting from as low as $8.99 to $10!

Now is the time to grab some of the sets you have been considering or have on your wish list!

Here's what I do every year, with Christmas and my birthday quickly approaching...I order items I'd like to receive when I see sales like this.  When the package arrives I give it, unopened, to my husband and say, "Here, you can give me these for Christmas and I'll LOVE them!"  No pushing through crowded stores, waiting in long lines...this makes his life a whole lot easier and I know I will love what I get! ;)

I hope you'll pop over to the Precious Remembrance Shop store and have some fun shopping the sales from the comfort of your own home!!  I'm heading over there now!

Take good care and happy shopping!

CASology #225: SOFT

Hello, friends! Tuesday has arrived, and so has a new cue card at CASology!

We have a new sponsor this week!  Poppystamps has a beautiful selection of stamps and dies, and I have had many of their dies for years.  I used one of my favorites, the Lorelai Outline Leaf die, for my card today.  It is so soft and delicate, and easy to cut into smaller sections if needed.

For my card, I die cut the leaf on silver glitter paper, only popping out some of the leaves.  I did some "stamp kissing" on the gray circle, inking it up, then pressing it to the woodgrain stamp before stamping on my paper.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink (Wreath For All Seasons); Inkadinkado (circle);
     Hero Arts (Designer Woodgrain)
Inks:  black dye ink; Hero Arts (Soft Granite)
Dies: Poppystamps (Lorelai Outline Leaf)
Other: Papertrey Ink (Linen embossing plate)

Be sure to link up your SOFT card by noon on Monday (Central time). There is a very generous prize being offered by our sponsor to the winner this week!

You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their SOFT cards, too!

Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #22 - The Final Challenge!

Hello, everyone!  I'm here today with my final card for the current Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #22.  Yes, I am sad to say, this is the final challenge.  You can read all about it at the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge blog.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Ka and Mady for inviting me to join the Design Team; I have had such a good time the past six months and it was a pleasure being on the team!  I'm grateful for the opportunity and I had a lot of fun!

For the final challenge, we are using this inspiration board:

For my project today, I chose to work with the diagonal row: Scene/Use Dimension/Texture.

I made a little fall scene on a tag using this fun new set by Gerda Steiner Designs.  I colored in the hedgehog with Copic markers and added white dots to the scarf, his eyes, and his cheeks with a white gel pen.  I layered the tag onto another tag made using textured paper and foam tape for dimension.  I added more texture by finishing off the tags with a rough jute bow.  The textured leafy card base adds to the feel of my fall scene.

Card Supplies:
Stamps:  Gerda Steiner Designs (Hedgehog with Sign)
Inks: Black dye ink; Copic markers; white gel pen
Dies: MFT Die-Namics (Stitched Traditional Tag STAX)
Other: Bazzill Dotted Swiss paper; foam tape; jute bow

I am also entering this card into the current 26th Share Your Designs Challenge at Gerda Steiner Designs.

I am really looking forward to your take on the inspiration board for Challenge #22.  I hope you get a chance to play along for our last challenge!

Thank you for stopping by today,
Judy

CASology #224: EMBRACE

Hello, friends!  Tuesday has arrived, and so has a new cue card at CASology!

When I saw this cue I immediately thought of the "Noteworthy" sentiment set by Shery Russ at STAMPlorations.  They happen to be sponsoring our challenge at CASology this week...how perfect is that?

I know my morning cup of coffee helps me "embrace life" for the day...so I paired that wonderful sentiment with a cup and heart from the "Sketchy Coffee Cups" set.

Sidebar -- now that we have changed the clocks for Daylight Savings Time, my lighting for picture-taking is off and I am not home during the best light.  Ugh!  Here is another picture taken at a different time of day...I think this one shows the depth of the embossing folder frame a little better than the first!

I'll be entering this card in two challenges at STAMPlorations:

(1) STAMPloration November CAS Card Challenge (I did not use the optional color twist.)

(2) STAMPlorations Never-ending Anything Goes Challenge

I am looking forward to seeing how you EMBRACE the cue this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by our Design Team and Guest Designer card...be sure to go check them out!

Inks: Hero Arts (Jayne's Blush); Distress Inks (Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint)
Other: Sunflower pearls; Glossy Accents; corner rounder
