SSS Wednesday Challenge: Smile!

Hello, friends!  Just stopping by to share a card I made just for fun using some stamps sets from Precious Remembrance Shop.  I'm entering this card in the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: "Anything Goes!"

I don't know how to admit this...it seems weird, and really I'm not that weird...but I have an obsession with this stamp company!  I stalk the PRS blog to see when new projects have been posted...I can't wait for the next release...I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to cards I've found using PRS stamps (seen here)...I constantly think about what I can make next using my stamps.  Has this ever happened to you?  If so, what stamp company flipped you head over heels?  (I'm curious...and I want to make sure I'm not alone in my obsession!)

Anyway, here is my card using the coffee cup and smiley face from Coffee Love, the "Smile" sentiment from Positive Thoughts, and the "wishing you" sentiment from Oh So Fun.  I paper-pieced the cup using a new favorite 6x6 paper pad I recently picked up by Pebbles called "Front Porch" (found here).  I added highlights to the cup using Copic markers.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!

CASology #106: RAINBOW

Hello, friends!  We are back with a new cue card for this week at CASology ... I have a feeling this week's pool will be a colorful one!

It is also my design teammate Jen's birthday today (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JEN!) so be sure to stop by and wish her well!  :)

This week, I wanted to use the colors of the rainbow while playing with my Papertrey Ink "Happy Hexagons."  I stamped them directly onto the card in rainbow colors (although my pool blue looks green for some reason?) and then stamped the black outline stamp on top to give some definition.  It almost looks like they were paper-pieced, but this is a one layer card (aside from the black strip of card stock on the edge).  The sentiment is from PTI's "Signature Greetings," and the three tiny pearls are just for a little extra added interest.

I am also going to enter my card in the challenge at Less Is More this week where the Challenge #182 is "Anything Goes."  (Happy Birthday, Chrissie!)

What does the cue RAINBOW mean to you?  I can't wait to see!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). In the meantime, check out how our Design Team and Guest Designers interpreted the cue this week...you won't be disappointed!

FMS #146: Smile Happy Birthday

Hello, friends!  I had some time to play today, so I decided to make a card following the cool sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  While Amy's sketch is #146, this is my first time playing along and I'm excited to give it a go!

For my clean card, I used several pretty patterned papers from the Pebbles "Front Porch" 6x6 paper pad with some of my favorite stamps by Precious Remembrance Shop.  I love the layers but I also love that it is flat enough to mail with ease!

Be sure to check out the great cards that the FMS Design Team posted HERE.   I was definitely inspired by their creative takes on the sketch!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day,
Judy

CASology #105: RUN

Hello, friends!  What a fun week of PETS we had last week!  I was so impressed by the awesome CAS cards in the pool...it was tough to pick a winner, let me tell ya!

Now it's time for our new cue at CASology!

This week we are sponsored by Add a Little Dazzle...be sure to check out the CASology blog for all the details!  Mónica, the founder and owner of Add a Little Dazzle, was kind enough to send the Design Team members some metallic sheets to play with for the challenge, so I was really inspired to try something different and fun this week!

This is one of those cue words that can be
interpreted in a variety of ways.  I went with the literal meaning, mainly because I was a runner in my younger days, my husband was and still is a runner, and now my two sons enjoy running cross country and track (amidst other sports).  My husband and I met in high school through cross country/track and so I have fond memories linked with running.  My three brothers also ran cross country and track all through high school and still run when they can.  Running is great because it can be a life-long sport, assuming injuries do not interfere (it is tough on the knees).

So, my card is inspired by the idea of the finish line at the end of a race.  I glued the purple metallic paper to white card stock before I die cut the banners so that they would be sturdier for gluing (although it is not necessary).

Stamping Supplies:
Purple metallic paper by Add a Little Dazzle
Stamps by WPlus9 (Label Layers 4)
Banner dies by MFT/Dienamics
Stitched Rectangle dies by Lil' Inkers
Nicole's eggplant die ink, Hero Arts Soft Lilac Shadow ink
Paper piercing tool

Now it's your turn to RUN and make a card for this week's challenge!  :)   Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). Be sure to check out the clever interpretations of the cue by our Design Team and Guest Designers this week, too!

Need more inspiration?  Here's a sweet little song by Ben Kweller called "Run."  This catchy little song reminds me of high school when my husband and I first started dating (especially since we both liked to run).  It makes me happy...such a cute song!  (To listen click here.)

CASology #104: PET

Hello, friends!  After a fun week of glowing entries, we are back with a new cue card at CASology.  I have a feeling this cue is going to be a popular one!

Having asthma and allergies has prevented me from having furry pets throughout my life, and now two of my four children have the same issues.  However, we have had fish for several years, so they are our "family pets!"

Would you believe my daughter had the same goldfish for over four years and it grew to seven inches long before it died?  It even jumped out of its tank once and survived!  We found it flopping on the kitchen floor one day when we returned home from a day out, immediately placed it back in the tank, and it was fine!  (And they say cats have nine lives!)

So, needless to say, this card was inspired by our family pets...our fish!

I highlighted the spotty fish with Glossy Accents and added some glossy bubbles, too!

Supplies Used:
Fish stamp from "Sea Mates" by The Alley Way Stamps
Mason jar from "Oh So Fun" by Precious Remembrance Shop
Sentiment stamp from "You" by Simon Says Stamp
Glossy Accents, Copic markers

Be sure to link up your PET card by noon on Monday (Central time).  Be sure to check out the creative cards by our Design Team and our amazing Guest Designers as they interpreted the cue this week, too!

CASology #103: GLOW

Hello, friends!  It's Tuesday, and you know what that means...a new cue card at CASology!

This week we are sponsored by STAMPlorations so be sure to check out the CASology blog for all the details.

So many ideas came to mind when I saw this cue...glowing neon signs...glowing lightening bugs in a jar...glow sticks (we always have them for the kids at our July 4th family barbecue)...the glow of fireworks in the night sky.

Then I went a little "outside the box" and went for a different kind of glow.  Tell me...do you get the reference?

Supplies Used:
"Maternity" stamp by Katie & Co.
"Scrolls" embossing folder by Darice
"Clear Star" Gelly Roll pen by Sakura
Copic markers

I'm so excited because two of my sisters-in-law are expecting their third children (and almost have the same due date).  I will be an aunt for the 16th and 17th time early next year!   I love all my nieces and nephews so much, and I love to see our families growing!  It makes my heart happy.  And my sisters-in-law are both glowing!

Needless to say, this card will be heading straight to one of my sisters-in-law (no worries, I already have a card for the other).  I left the front blank and added a congratulations sentiment on the inside of the card.  I left the white embossed frame untouched but added a tiny line of glitter pen around the inner frame for interest.  One main image, lots of white space, a clean and simple card.

Be sure to link up your GLOW card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!

A little inspiration before you go -- here is a picture of one of my nieces at our July 4th barbecue with her glow sticks as she hid under the dining room table in the dark...check out her glow!

Happy 4th of July!

Hello, friends!  I just wanted to wish all of my friends here in the USA a Happy Independence Day!

We host an annual family barbecue and I send out a variety of invitations each year...here are two that I sent out this year using a gingham background stamp and two different patriotic printables.

Now off to prepare and celebrate!
Happy 4th of July!

CASology #102: FLOAT

Hello, friends!  It's once again time for a new cue card at CASology!

This week we are sponsored by the wonderful Cindy Coutts so be sure to check out the CASology blog for all the details...there is a stamp set to be won!

I decided to play with some of my Jane's Doodle's stamps and came up with the idea of this cute girl holding a floating balloon.  Balloons are a great way to celebrate a fun occasion!  I kept lots of white space and let the girl and her balloon take center stage.

Supplies List:
Stamps by Jane's Doodles
Balloon punch by Martha Stewart
Embossing folder by Cuttlebug "Pinking Stitch"
Floss, Glossy Accents, white Enamel Accents (on dress and hat), Copic markers

Be sure to link up your FLOAT-inspired card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designers interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs for some creative ideas!

Guest Designers: Kylie and Lindsey

I'm also dropping this card in the pool at the current CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge following this layout:
