A Scrappy Birthday Card - LIM 56

Hello, friends!  It is good to be back for a quick visit...been away too long with the craziness of life and missing all of you!

I am stopping by today with a card I made for the current Less Is More Week 56 Challenge: Don't Scrap It. We are challenged to use some of those left over bits and pieces we all tend to keep...mine are in a drawer in a set of plastic storage drawers.

I recently bought this cute For You Gifts stamp from the new 2012 Hero Arts catalog and couldn't wait to play with it.  I stamped the image onto white card stock, then stamped it repeatedly onto various pieces of scrap paper from the drawer.

Next, I cut out the various elements (boxes, dress, shoes) and colored
the remaining sections of the image before adhering the paper pieces.

Here they are glued on...

Finally, in an effort to keep it clean and simple, I adhered the image to a white embossed card base and rounded the corners.

I had some extra cut-outs that I will keep in a little baggie for future paper-piecing with this stamp.  What a great way to use up my scraps!  Lots of fussy cutting, but a nice stress relief after a busy day!

As always, thanks for stopping by.  Hope to visit you soon!

More Papertrey Fun...Wreaths!

Hello friends!  I managed to squeak some time out this weekend to make a few more cards with my new Papertrey Ink stamps.  I love this wreath for all seasons set and how much versatility the layering stamps have...you can make so many variations, the possibilities are endless!

Here is one example, using yellow ink and some gold Stickles for a little sparkle.  (The sentiments for both cards are from the Think Big series at PTI.)

Here is the same wreath, this time using purple ink and blue Stickles.

I feel so badly that I haven't had any blogging time...I miss you all!  I am sure I am missing some beautiful and inspiring work out there...boo hoo!  So hard to find a balance ...and the time to do all that I want to do!  Know that I am thinking of you all and I hope you are all well.

Thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink + Rolled Roses = Fun!

Hello, friends!  Boy, I haven't been around in a while and I miss it so!   Life is so B*U*S*Y these days that I'm lucky I even got to make any cards, let alone photograph them, upload them, and then blog about them!  Believe it or not I made these cards over the weekend, but this is the first chance I've had to blog them.  Sorry I haven't been around to visit or comment...SIGH!  The sad part is, this is only the beginning...it just gets busier from here on out...once spring hits, I'm gone until summer!

Anyway, I am so excited because I ordered my first EVER stamps from Papertrey Ink (thank you for my gift certificate award, Susan...it was a big help!).  I have been eyeing several sets for quite some time, and while I have a bazillion sentiments already, I couldn't resist adding THIS set to my collection.  I also ordered THIS cool set...can't wait to play with these wreaths!  Finally, I ordered various colors of wool felt...yummy!

I was also excited to play with the My Favorite Things Mini Rolled Roses dies I ordered from Simon Says Stamp! (That's why I wanted the wool felt!).  This time around I made some rolled roses out of patterned paper.

Here they are individually.  I added red Stickles around the edge of the scallop and inside the rose on this first card.

I added a brown pearl on the inside of this rose.

Yep, I really like these sentiments AND the rolled roses.  FUN!

OK, back to the mad rush...wish me luck!  See you all soon...I hope!

Birthday Girl Set

Hello, friends!  I wanted to share a quick and easy card set that I made to have on hand for the many girl birthday parties my DDs are invited to so often!

I received two sweet sets of Heidi Grace cupcake stickers from Savannah O'Gwynn in a recent prize, and I couldn't wait to use them.  Here is my card set:

For each card, I stamped the Hero Arts Cling Dots stamped with bubble gum midtone shadow ink  on the bottom half of the card, and added mainly Paper Smooches sentiments along with the cupcake stickers.  I added a few of the smaller stickers on the insides of the cards for fun.

Sorry for the poor photo quality...bright in spots, shadowy in others.  I am having problems with my photo editing program (it looks fine on the computer where I edit, but then looks funky when I upload to my blog).  I'm working on it...thanks for being patient!

Here are photos of each of the cards individually...feel free to skip or scroll through quickly, there are several!

(This card uses a Studio G sentiment stamp.)

That does it for today...thanks for visiting!

Snowman Fun!

Hello, friends!  I mentioned a few posts back that I ordered the fun "Vintage Christmas" set from Jane's Doodles because I adore this snowman...so fun to paper piece his hat and scarf!  So, I have made a few more snowman cards and wanted to share them with you today.

First up:  A pastel one-layer card with a Hero Arts sentiment and a fun punched heart.

Next up:  A layered card with richer colors, a Paper Smooches sentiment, and some dry embossing.

While I was at it, I stamped and cut out a bunch of snowmen, glued on various patterned paper hats and scarves, and put them aside for future use.  See my stash?

Thanks for stopping by...hope all is well!
