CASology #191: WASHI

(Click HERE for my give-away post...I pick a winner on March 30th!)

Hello, friends!  It's Tuesday, which means it is time for our new cue card at CASology!

Instead of using real washi tape, I decided to play with my "Border Tape #1" stamp set by Precious Remembrance Shop.  I stamped a row of overlapping tape images, then added a Cuttlebug die cut "thanks" on top.  The coral and tide pool inks coordinate nicely, and provide a pretty background for the white sentiment on white card base.

In a different light....

Be sure to link up your WASHI card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!

New Release at Precious Remembrance Shop!

Hello, friends!  I'm so excited to be here today to share my card for the newest Precious Remembrance Shop release!  Check out the newest stamp set, "Happy Art!"

If you are hopping along, you should have arrived at my blog from the awesome Deidre Payne's blog.  If you want to start from the beginning, you can follow the line-up below:

Precious Remembrance Shop
Judy Marino --> that's me!

OK, now for my card.  I know I recently admitted here on my blog that I am not a doodler and I prefer neatness, so when I first saw this set I was a bit nervous!  (I have a hard time saying "messy" and "love" in the same sentence, to be honest!)  However, one of the things I love so much about the Precious Remembrance Shop stamp sets is that there are elements in each set that can be used independently as well as with stamps from other sets.  I wound up using just the "yay" sentiment in this set to make a simple birthday card.  The smaller sentiment is from the "Oh So Fun" set, and I drew the black border with a Sharpie marker.

Can you guess what's coming next?  You guessed it, a chance to win this set!  Leave a comment to the shop's blog post and each of the designer's blogs...let us know what you think of the set!
  • One lucky winner of the stamp set will be chosen randomly.
  • To keep updated with our projects, join us on our Facebook, Pinterest, and/or Instagram if you haven't already.
  • Giveaway will end on Sunday March 27, 2016 (and the winner will be announced at the PRS blog).
Thanks for stopping by...now you are off to Lisa's blog!
Happy hopping!

CASology #190: WEATHER

(Click HERE for my give-away post!)

Hello, friends!  Welcome to a new week at CASology where the cue card is perfect for our current season here in the United States -- spring!  In the past few days alone I have seen snow, sun, and lots of wind!  Tomorrow's forecast?  Warm!  Yep, I've seen lots of crazy WEATHER!

This week we are sponsored by Avery Elle, so I decided to play with my "Simply Said: You" stamp and die sets.  I paired the die cut with silver glitter paper to elicit the feeling of a "silver lining" among the clouds, and the blue card base signifies the sky. Instead of dry embossing the entire cloud background (using a Darice embossing folder), I tapped on it with a hammer on only the clouds I wanted to emboss.  (I saw that done beautifully by Rosemary and had to try it!)  The cute little sun is an old Me & My Big Ideas stamp.

I love how that glitter paper sparkles in the sun!

Be sure to link up your WEATHER card by noon on Monday.  Check out our Design Team and Guest Designer cards, too...you are sure to be inspired!

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

(Click HERE for my give-away post!)

Hello, friends!  I'm here today with a card I made for the Spring 2016 Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!

I haven't missed one yet...that makes this my fifth Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  I have had so much fun following the Coffee Loving Papercrafters Facebook group, too...have you joined yet?

I kept my card clean and simple today, using the fun coffee cup image from the "Coffee Love" stamp set by Precious Remembrance Shop and a free digi sentiment by Verve stamps.  I paper-pieced the coffee cup using some springy papers from the My Mind's Eye "Ooh La La for Her" designer paper pad...I think the colors match the blog hop banner!

I hope you get a chance to participate in the blog hop...it is always an exciting week!
Thanks for stopping by,
Judy

CASology #189: DOODLE

(Click HERE for my give-away post!)

Hello, friends!  It's time to get out your drawing utensils for our next CASology cue card!

I know lots of kids who like to doodle in their notebooks at school.  (I also know lots of adults who doodle on their papers during meetings at work!)

I, being a neat freak, would never dream of doing something like that! You will not find any doodles in my notebooks.  Don't get me wrong, I like to draw and I always have enjoyed drawing. However, doodling is not orderly.  Hence, my issue with it.

Our sponsor this week at CASology is STAMPlorations, and I thought of this cool doodle-style image they shared at some point as a free digital image called "coffee and books."  I love how the books look like someone drew them, and one very well may have doodled IN them, too.  (Just not ME.)

The sentiment is computer generated, and the whole card was printed, colored, and cut down to a 5x5 card.  I added Glossy Accents to the mug for some shine.  I masked the books and added some Antique Linen distress ink shading for depth.

So, what does DOODLE bring to mind for you?  Be sure to link up your card by Monday. Check out the clever cards shared by our Design Team and Guest Designer for more inspiration!

Our Sponsor This Week:  STAMPlorations

I can't let today go by without wishing my best girlfriend in the world, Andrea, a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  Andrea introduced me to the world of stamping when she sent me a hand-made Christmas card on which she had embossed a pair of mittens back in the 1990's, and I was intrigued.  She suggested I buy a book on stamping, which I did, and the rest is history!  Happy Birthday, Andrea!  (This card is for you!)

It's Give-Away Time!

Hello, friends!  A few weeks ago I mentioned that, in gratitude for reaching 150 followers (now over 150), I would have a give-away.  Guess what?  It's give-away time!

CASology #188: LAUGH

Hello, friends!  Are you up for a week of LAUGHS at CASology?  I know I am!

This week we have a new sponsor...let's give a warm welcome to Pink and Main!  (You should check out their Instagram feed...full of fun cards!)  When I heard they were our sponsor, I went to check out their store and couldn't resist this sentiment set called "Believe Script."

While there are many pretty and sincere sentiments in this set, they can be funny if paired with silly images! ;)  Look what happens when you pair the sentiments with this Art Impressions "Golden Oldies" image?

Maybe I have a warped sense of humor, but I find this funny...it makes ME laugh.

I thought it would be fun to stamp the sentiment in Hero Arts "Latte" chalk ink since that lovely lady is holding her morning coffee.  The latte/white twine ties it all together. (Pun intended.)

I have a sneaking suspicion that my children would say this resembles their mother in the morning.
And then they would be put in time out.
I mean, really.
My hair is not blue.
I don't even own a yellow mug.
Just sayin'.

Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also get a good laugh...and inspiration...by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week.  Be sure to check out their blogs, too!

TIME OUT Challenge #51 and SSS Wednesday Challenge

Hello, friends!  I'm stopping by quickly tonight before the final episode of Downton Abbey comes on...what will I ever do when it ends?  I can't even think about it!

I'm here to share an Easter card I made for the current TIME OUT Challenge #51 as they celebrate their second birthday.  Happy Birthday!  Also, I'll be adding this to the pool at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where the theme this week is "Touchy Feely."  (I added lots of texture on my card base by dry embossing all those dots!)

For my card, I stamped the Hero Arts Easter sentiment, then dry embossed the card base with my Cuttlebug "Seeing Spots" embossing folder.  The cute "Bunny Fluffles" image is a fun Stampendous image that I colored with Copics and added some white Enamel Accents to the ribbon for more texture.

OK, off to catch Downton.  Any other fans out there?
Take care!
Judy

Sami Stamps Challenge #35 & The Card Concept #50

Hello, friends!  I'm here today to share a St. Patrick's Day card I made for two challenges.

First Challenge:  Sami Stamps Challenge #35: Stitching.  I used faux stitching around the border of my image (using a Lil' Inkers stitched rectangle die).

Second ChallengeThe Card Concept #50: Shamrocks, Patterns & Greens.  What a perfect motivator to make a few cards for St. Patrick's Day!  My card follows the "Clean and Simple" style since I used one main image, lots of open space, limited layers/embellishments,and it was a quick and easy card to create.

I had fun coloring this beautiful digital image from Sami Stamps Shop called "Little Shamrock Dancer."   I have two daughters with this color hair, and one is a dancer, so they were my inspiration when coloring this lovely girl!

I colored the images with Copic markers and added accents with a white gel pen.  The blue shadow is a Paper Smooches image stamped with Soft Pool shadow ink by Hero Arts.

I will add a "Happy St. Patrick's Day" sentiment inside the card but I wanted to let the image stand alone...isn't is delicate and pretty?

Be sure to check out both challenges if you get a chance!
Thanks for stopping by,
Judy

GSD Share Your Designs Challenge #17 & NBUS Challenge #6

Hello, friends!  I'm stopping by today with an Easter card I made for the current Gerda Steiner Designs: Share Your Designs Challenge #17.

This time around I played with a bunny digi image and fussy cut it, layering it in front of several layers of die cut grass and behind a fence.

Since this is the first time I've used this bunny image, I'm also linking it up to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #6...I don't know if digi images count as "stuff," but I haven't used it before!

Just a quick post today...off to take my son to guitar lessons!
Thanks for stopping by!

Gerda Steiner Designs March Challenge

Hello, friends!  Just stopping by with another card I made using this month's digital image for the monthly challenge at Gerda Steiner Designs.  I really love this cute "Carrot Bunny" and you can get him in the store HERE.  (If you play along this month, you will receive next month's image for free!)

I decided to have some fun with patterned papers and some distress inks for the background; I colored the image with Copics.  So easy!

Just a quick post today...thanks for stopping by!

FMS #226 & Gerda Steiner Designs March Monthly Challenge

Hello, friends!  Things have been crazy busy here...which seems to be the normal state of affairs, nothing new.  That's why I am so happy I was able to sneak in a few minutes of crafting time tonight to make a card for two challenges!

First challenge: the March Monthly Challenge at Gerda Steiner Designs using this sweet carrot bunny digital stamp.  Did you know that if you participate you will receive next month's image for free?

Second challengeFreshly Made Sketches #226: A Sketch by Rita.  Isn't this a darling sketch?

First, I printed the bunny image, colored with Copic markers, die cut, and inked. Next, I mounted it on top of patterned papers following the patterns of the sketch. Easy and quick...and another Easter card for my stash to send my little nieces and nephews.  Yay!

(I'm not thrilled with the lighting for my picture since I had to take this at night...sorry about that!)

Thanks for stopping by!

CASology #187: SPIN

Hello, friends!  I'm stopping by today with a card for the next CASology cue card...get ready to SPIN!

I had the perfect stamp set for this cue and couldn't wait to ink it up!  "Pinwheels2" by The Stamps of Life had the perfect image...and sentiment!  I stamped the pinwheel in black, then inked up one of the coordinating patterned triangles using Hero Arts "Bubblegum" midtone ink.  I colored the remaining pink sections with a Copic marker, then added a big black gem to the center.  Quick and clean and simple!

Be sure to link up your SPIN card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will definitely be inspired by the clever ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!
