CAS(E) This Sketch & Hero Arts One Layer Challenge Combo!

Hello, friends!  Today I am stoping by with a card inspired by two challenges.
First up is the new Hero Arts One-Layer Challenge -- I do love one-layer cards, so I had to play along!

My one-layer card was inspired by the very fun sketch at the current CAS(E) This Sketch #82:

When I saw this sketch I immediately thought of my Hero Arts "Monster Party" digital stamp set.  I sized up a blank card (paper size 4.25" x 11" with minimal margins) on my computer, inserted the image and sentiment following the sketch layout, and printed.

Once printed, I colored in that cute little monster, stamped the Hero Arts speech bubble (from the "Write Your Message" clear set), masked the sentiment and monster and stamped some more Hero Arts goodness in the background using Soft Vanilla and Tide Pool inks.  I added white Enamel Accent dots all over the monster for a little texture.

Here is my finished one-layer card:

Of course, who can stop there?  I mean, after all, I have this cute little layout all set on the computer ready for mass producing!  So, I cut three different colors of card stock to card size and printed them.  However, I wanted to do some colorful paper-piecing for this set of monsters, so I copied the monster image from my card to another Word document set up at 6x6 (with minimal margins so they fit) and pinted multiple monsters on to two different patterned papers by American Crafts. Since I copied the monster from my original card, I am guaranteed that they are the same exact size!

After fussy-cutting the monsters I added them to the colored cards, embossed a frame and stamped some zig-zag backgrounds, added some funny eyes for interest, and voila, I have a great set of birthday cards!  I also have some extra little monsters for future cards as needed.  Love that!

As always, thanks for stopping by...I appreciate your visits!

  8. Judy this card is so cute but way to much computer work for me. It has taken me a year to master submitting my card to a challenge.
