So, I don't have any banner stamps, nor do I have any banner dies. Yes, I thought about cutting some out by hand, but the mojo was lacking. SO...I took out my 6x6 patterned paper pads and, lo and behold, I found THIS one! A whole page of flags/banners from My Mind's Eye...yippee! Here are the two papers I used.
My card is pretty self-explanatory...a little fussy cutting, some white embossing (with a great new Papertrey Ink Think Big sentiment), some Liquid Pears, twine, and a button. Voila!
So, there you have it, my first ever banner/flag card! (Thank heavens for patterned papers!)
(For those of you following the "purple paint" project, we have had some drama...shocking, I'm sure...but the girls can't agree on the right shade of purple, so we are now changing our tune. We did, however, purchase a rug whose color name still has me in shock..."Grape Soda." Wish us luck...it is going to be a dramatic process all the way!)
Thanks for stopping by!
Judy
So funny that your girls couldn't decide - I was secretly hoping (for your sake) that they'd choose a pretty, soft lavender shade! :)
ReplyDeleteI ADORE your card, Judy! So clever of you to cut the paper! Perfect for the challenge! :)
You are actually right, Barb, that IS what they chose! However, we painted small sections of the wall and within minutes one of the girls was in tears...it was "all wrong!" It is looking better as the paint dries...so we'll see!
DeleteGorgeous card Judy :o) I love your comments about the banners & hexagons - makes me feel better. I still haven't gotten on board with washi tape either lol xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteFantastic way to use patterned paper and that large sentiment is just the perfect balance too :0)

ReplyDeleteadorable card! and good for you to let your kids pick out their paint schemes....even if it does add a bit of drama to the mix. I always let my kids pick out their room colors and as a result we ended up with seafoam greens and blues, a red, pink and yellow one and finally a bight (and man o man I mean bright) kelly green room!
