Cards for Little Hearts - Heart-Themed Cards

Hello, friends, and Happy New Year!

Yes, I realize it has been quite a while since my last post. It seems to me that life just keeps getting busier, just when I think it can't be possible!

The holidays are notoriously busy in our household, with Christmas concerts, celebrations (my birthday, Christmas Eve, Christmas, my daughter's birthday, New Year's Eve), church services, decorating, shopping, cleaning, visiting, etc.  This year it was different because my two oldest children came home from college after their first semester and didn't return to school until January 13th. It was great having everyone home again...everything was bustling around here!

Now everyone has returned to school and work, the decorations are put away, and the old routine has resumed.

I was happy to be able to spend time throughout the weekend making a batch of cards for the current Cards for Little Hearts card drive. They are currently collecting heart-themed cards to be distributed during February, which is "heart month."

While I seem to be moving away from making cards for challenges and blogging the way I used to, I am finding great satisfaction in making cards for this particular cause.  Heart disease has impacted my extended family, and it makes me happy to know that my cards might bring smiles to children who are in the hospital due to congenital heart disease.

Note that the heart-themed cards for February distribution should have general sentiments, not specific to Valentine's Day.  Details about the card drive can be found at their website HERE.  It would be fantastic if you sent in a card or two. The card drive goes on all year, but collection for heart-themed month is going on now!

Now for some of my cards.  Warning: picture-heavy post ahead!

I found that my Lawn Fawn critter stamps come in very handy for cards for kids...the images are so cute!

These cards used Lawn Fawn critters paired with Hero Arts sentiments.

The next few cards are made with all Lawn Fawn stamps.  I'm going to enter four of them into the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #44: Happy Little Critters!  I hope all these happy critters bring smiles to the kids who receive them!

The next few cards use other products, including
Hero Arts, D.O.T.S and Neat & Tangled.

(I love the sparkle that some glitter on the flowers adds to this card!)

(Hard to see, but this sentiment is embossed with ultra fine clear embossing powder.)

Congratulations, you made it through a very long post...one way or another!

I do appreciate your visits and I hope you will check out the Cards for Little Hearts ongoing card drive...it is a great way to enjoy your stamps and supplies while bringing smiles to children and teens suffering from congenital heart disease.

Happy January, my friends!
Take good care,
Judy
