CASology #237: SCORE
Hello, friends! Happy Tuesday! I'm here today with my card for the latest cue card at CASology.
There are so many ways to go with this cue! I thought of my son's frequent soccer practices and games and how, as goalie, he works hard to prevent the other team from scoring. I thought of my job as a school psychologist in which I frequently score behavior checklists and cognitive tests. I thought of the musical scores my three high-school-age kids are heavily involved with as their spring musical quickly approaches. However, my stamps helped me make my final decision...thanks to our sponsor, STAMPlorations, for helping my final cards come together!
These cards are for my two oldest children who will soon be taking an SAT review class as they prepare to take the college entrance examinations in June. They are hoping the class will help raise their scores!
For both cards, I printed the digital image (a freebie from STAMPlorations a while back), then watercolored the images with distress inks. The sentiment is from the STAMPlorations "Noteworthy" set and I hope it will inspire them to do their best.
I'll be linking up this second card to the current Addicted to CAS: Challenge #105 Wood as I used my Hero Arts woodgrain background on my card base.
In addition, I'll link both cards up to the current STAMPlorations February CAS Card Challenge (without the color twist) as well as the STAMPlorations Never-ending Anything Goes Challenge.

CASology #236: ROMANCE
Hello, friends! Happy Valentine's Day! We are back today with a very fitting cue card at CASology.
Our sponsor this week is Uniko Studio and they are celebrating their five year anniversary this month! Congratulations on such a wonderful milestone, Uniko!
I made a romantic Valentine for my husband using a pretty digital heart and sentiment from our sponsor. By selectively coloring the flowers and using a soft pastel color, I kept my overall design clean and simple.
While I'm at it, I'll also be linking this card up to the current Uniko "Anything Goes" Challenge...I definitely did the optional twist of love, too!

Paper Smooches February Challenge: Love
Hello, friends! I'm stopping in today with a quick post to share a mini gift card I made for the current Paper Smooches February Challenge: LOVE.
For this card, I used the Paper Smooches "Roses" dies along with some patterned papers and foil papers. I die cut the flower and leaves using white card stock, then did it again using the special papers and adhered them on top of the white base for some dimension.
I love the smooth shine the foil papers provide in the right light!
I made this 3x3 card for my son to give his girlfriend for Valentine's Day; he attached it to a bouquet of flowers and it was the perfect size!

I have some good news to share, too! This set will be on sale for $12.99 during our release blog hop running from today (Wednesday) through Friday...get it at the discounted price while you can!
OK, now on to my project. I have been skirting around the planners that are so very popular these days...but that ended when I received this stamp set. I couldn't resist any longer! I pulled out a mini binder I have had in my stash for some time and cut down some cardstock to fit it (the pages are approximately 5.5" x 8.5").
My first project for my planner is a calendar page for February, and I plan to make one for every month left this year using this Date stamp set.
I started out by stamping the grid for the month and year, using red ink in honor of Valentine's Day this month. I stamped the numbers for the calendar, then drew boxes with a fine tip Sharpie and a ruler. Easy peasy!
Next up, I designed a section at the bottom of the page to keep track of birthdays this month. I used a variety of PRS stamp sets including Coffee Love (winking smiley face), Fall Colors (splatters and text box), Oh So Fun (happy birthday), and Positive Thoughts (heart). I finished off the page by adding washi tape accents for some extra color.

CASology #235: HERO
Hello, friends! It's time for our new cue card at CASology and this week it is all about your HERO!
When you look up this word, you will find two meanings...

I decided to go with the first definition, thinking of all the women in my life who have been heroic and brave in their battles (e.g., againt cancer and other challenges) and who are definitely courageous, outstanding and noble in my opinion.
I used a pretty "Tea Time" tea cup from our sponsor, Avery Elle, and watercolored it with Worn Lipstick distress ink. The steam was stamped in Hickory Smoke distress ink, then outlined with a Sakura Gelly Roll glitter pen. The sentiment is from Dyane Reaveley's Ranger Ink Dylusions "Clearly the Right Words" stamp set.
