CASology #193: PINK

Hello, friends!  Happy Tuesday!  You know what that means, it's time for our next cue card at CASology!

For my card, I used my baby die set from Serendipity Stamps...and they happen to be our awesome sponsor this week!  No stamps used on this card...just a layered baby bootie, a die cut sentiment, and a fun embossing folder border.  Simple!

If you look closely, you will see the white lacey bootie layered on top of the pink solid bootie, and both are mounted on a die cut foam bootie for height.  The little bow is part of the bootie die set...a perfect touch for such a cute bootie!

While I'm at it, I'll be entering this card into the current challenge at the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog because the theme is "emboss."  I embossed the border around my card, and there is some detailed embossing on the bootie of you look closely!

This cue can go so many ways...I can't wait to see what you do with it!  Be sure to link up your PINK card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!

GSD 19th Share Your Designs: "Thank You" Bunny Mini Card

Hello, friends!  I'm stopping in today with a quick one-layer card I made for the Gerda Steiner Designs 19th Share Your Designs challenge.  (So far I am the only entrant...I do hope to have some company over there soon!)

I made this card using one of the bunny images (and the bee) from the Happy Hoppy 4x6 clear set along with a sentiment and the grass from the Brush Bunny clear stamp set.  The card measures 3.5 x 4.25 so it is a little smaller than a standard card.  As a finishing touch, I added two Prima flowers with gold Stickles to the centers.  The background is watercolored, while I colored the bunny with Copics.

I hope you get a chance to play along with the GSD Share Your Design challenge this time around...you can use any GSD stamp you might have!

Thanks for stopping by,
Judy

GSD Progressive Challenge: What's Up?

Hello, friends!  I'm here today with a card I made using the digital image for the April Monthly Progressive Challenge at Gerda Steiner Designs.  This cute image is called "Hang In There Monkey" and if you play along in the challenge this month you will receive next month's image for free!

I combined the image with a sentiment from the GSD Gopher It 2x3 clear stamp set. I thought the Polaroid of this little fella went perfectly with the leafy card base!

You can find the image HERE if you want to play along!

This card is going to my nephew who is in kindergarten; he has a little mailbox outside his bedroom door, so I'll ask his mom to put it in his box!

Have a great day!

SSS Wednesday Challenge & GSD Share Your Designs #19: "Hoppy Birthday"

Hello, friends! I'm here today to share a card I made using last month's digi image for the March Monthly Challenge at Gerda Steiner Designs.  I printed a whole bunch of these guys and just got around to making another card.  This time I steered away from Easter cards and instead made a birthday card using the cute "Hoppy Birthday" sentiment.

I'm sharing this card in the 19th GSD Share Your Design Challenge.

I'm also entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge as they celebrate their 7th birthday.  The theme is, appropriately, "Happy Birthday."  Happy 7th birthday, Simon Says Stamp!

I colored in this cute fella with Copic markers and added some puffy heart stickers for fun!

As always, thanks for stopping by...I always appreciate your visits!

CASology #192: SPROUT

Hello, friends!  Happy Tuesday!  Today I'm back with my card for the next CASology cue card.

So how come you never have a Brussels sprout stamp in your stash when you need one?  (I actually know the answer to that question...I'm assuming I'd never make a card with said stamp. I digress.)

This spring I have seen lots of my perennials sprouting up from the ground, some even when snow was still on the ground!  I spent this past Saturday morning digging up and separating my perennials that have all gotten too big, and I always feel so much better after doing that!  (Well, my legs don't feel better, they hurt in places I didn't know I had muscles.)  I also put down mulch to cover up all the weeds that are starting to sprout...hopefully they don't take over my thinned out perennial garden!

Thinking of the pretty flowers that are sprouting, I decided to make two cards using my Memory Box "Prim Poppy" die and a Martha Stewart lace border bunch.  I let the patterned papers do the work on my cards...no ink needed!

The little pink bow die from Memory Box is called "Crisp Bows."  I just cut off the bottom and kept the bow, adding a matching gem for some fun.

Here is a second card using the same poppy and border dies but different patterned paper in the background (and a little bow):

So?  What ideas are SPROUTING in your head this week?  I can't wait to see!

Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). Check out the amazingly creative cards by our Design Team and Guest Designer this week, too!

GSD 18th Share Your Design & SSS Anything Goes

Hello, friends!  I'm really enjoying my spring break, the kids and I have been running all week and it has been nice to sleep in each morning!  Luckily I was able to steal some time in between soccer tryouts today to make a few cards.

This card is for the current Gerda Steiner Designs 18th Share Your Designs challenge -- and I'm making it just under the wire!

It is also an "Anything Goes" week at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog, and they are featuring Ranger products.  I have lots of Tim Holtz distress inks, and on my card I used them to watercolor my background!

I've combined several Gerda Steiner Designs stamp sets to make this little scene. The two bunnies (left and center) are from the "Happy Hoppy" set, while the bunny on the right is from the "Brush Bunny" set.  I masked off the paint brush in that bunny's paw and instead drew a jump rope handle.  I drew the jump rope, stamped the grass (also from "Brush Bunny") and added the sentiment from the "Gopher It!" set...I thought it was rather punny of me!  Finally, I watercolored the background using distress inks and added color to the bunnies using Copic markers.

I am really enjoying these cute critters by Gerda Steiner Designs...perfect for a spring card, perfect for kids.  Perfect for any age, really...they make me smile!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I'll be back tomorrow to share some more cards!
