Freshly Made Sketch #186: You've Aged Beautifully

Hello, friends!  I've been playing with some new (to me) stamps and I couldn't wait to use them with the current Freshly Made Sketch #186 by Jen Brum.  Isn't this a fun sketch?

Apparently some people find the circle "threatening," but I actually love it!  I paired a funny stamp by Art Impressions with a sentiment from Paper Smooches and a Tim Holtz Alterations embossing folder, and voila!  This birthday card is going to my older sister in the fall...she appreciates my dry sense of humor.

When I showed this card to my 15-year-old daughter, she laughed, and exclaimed, "She looks like you!"  (Uh, wrong!  I don't have fuzzy bunny slippers!)  Kids -- and siblings -- are so good for our egos, aren't they?  :)

I'm also entering this card into the current Art Impressions Challenge #159 - "Lovely Ladies" since Maude is one lovely lady!

Another CASology Card: What Does the Fox Say?

Hello, friends!  I'm stopping by today with another card I made for the CASology cue card this week. I had this idea floating around my head and had to get it out!

So, you have heard the song, "What Does the Fox Say" by Ylvis, right?  If not, you can listen to it and see the music video on YouTube HERE.  I had to play with this retired Sweet Stamp Shop stamp set...isn't it perfect for the cue card this week?  I stamped "Happy Birthday" on the inside...that's really what this fox says!

So, what does MUSIC bring to mind for you?  I do hope you will play along with us at CASology this week so we can see how the cue inspires you!

Have a great day...thanks for stopping by!

CASology #146: MUSIC

Hello, friends!  Happy Tuesday!  You know what that means, right?  It's time for a new cue card at CASology!

I love music, so this cue is right up my alley.  I love to sing, I play guitar (and ukulele and some basic banjo),  I love listening to all types of music, and I love going to musicals!  When I'm not singing or humming, I'm whistling.  When I'm home alone, I don't watch TV, I listen to music.  My kids all play instruments and I love to listen to them practice and play.  I LOVE music.  LOVE IT!  Music is definitely a big part of my life and brings me great joy.

My card is as basic as it gets.  I played with some Paper Smooches stamps from the "Knick Knacks" set along with some Glossy Accents and came up with this simple card.

I have another card idea that I'll try to pull together and share later in the week.  There are so many ways to go with this cue!

I can't wait to see what you come up with for the cue card this week!  Be sure to link up your MUSIC card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!

FMS #185 & PS Sparks "Anything Goes"

Hello, friends!  Just sneaking in a quick card before the weekend activities take off.  I made a baby card using Cindy's current sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #185 and I used my Paper Smooches stamps as part of the Paper Smooches SPARKS "Anything Goes" challenge this week.

I decided to use soft colors on this baby card and colored with some of my lightest Copic markers. This stamp set, "A Little Lovin," is one of my favorite Paper Smooches stamp sets.  I never get tired of it!

OK, that's all the time I can spare today.  Off to track meet, then our kids' high school production of Les Miserables (my son is in the orchestra and my daughter is an assistant stage manager).  Somehow I have to do laundry and clean in between all that!  The final show is tomorrow...along with two soccer games.  Weekends in the spring can be really crazy, but weekends like this remind me how blessed I am to have children that can participate in all of these activities!  And so, on that note of gratitude, I wish all those celebrating it a Happy Mother's Day!

Baptism and First Communion Cards

Hello, friends!  I'm stopping by to share three cards I recently made (for two First Communions and a Baptism) using Spellbinders cross dies and lots of embossing folders...all for girls.

If you are interested in these cross dies, I have an entire folder of cards using these (and other Spellbinder cross dies) at my Pinterest board...you can find it HERE.  I am always amazed at the creative skills others have...they inspire me!

CASology #145: SHAPE

Hello, friends!  After a fun week in FLIGHT, we are back with our new cue card at CASology.  I can't wait to see how things take SHAPE this week!

For my card, I channeled my "inner Ardith" and went with a shaped card that kept things very clean and simple.  I die cut the circles, added black pearls for eyes, and drew the mouth by tracing a smaller circle die with a fine black Sharpie.  Voila!

The Studio G sentiment on the inside conveys the message behind the smiley face on the card front.

Oh, and before I forget, a HAPPY BIRTHDAY shout-out is headed to my design teammate Joyce!  Happy birthday, Joyce, and many more!!

So, let's see what SHAPE means to you!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). Need more inspiration?  Check out the Design Team and Guest Designer cards, too!

AEI♥U Challenge #24: Spring

Hello, friends!  I'm here today with a card I made for the AEI♥U Challenge #24: Spring.  It's a spring birthday card for my nephew and I used one of my favorite Avery Elle stamp sets!

I fussy-cut the framed sentiment and popped up on foam for some dimension.

Supplies:
Avery Elle "Framed Fonts"
Lil' Inkers stitched rectangles die
Blue sequins

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great day!
