During our ten-day vacation in Hawaii earlier this summer, we did a lot of "aquatic" activities (e.g., swimming, snorkeling, surfing, jumping off very high rocks into the ocean). My kids were especially interested in finding sea turtles, and we spotted several of them in different locations on the island. That was the inspiration for my card. The aqua blue card stock I used for the hexagon die cut reminds me of the color of the water in Hawaii!

What a cute little turtle!!! :) Love what you did with the hexagon die cut, Judy!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute, and I love the hexagons!
ReplyDeleteSuper fun card!
ReplyDeleteToo cute!! Love this little fella and his nifty colorful shell. We saw turtles in an aquarium on our vacation. One even visited the backyard of the house we stayed in!!
ReplyDeleteYour sea turtle is so sweet and I love how you colored him! Such a clever idea for a background, too! Love this card, Judy!
ReplyDeleteAll of the turtles in my neck-o-the-woods would love to have you visit with your WOS, Judy - turtle-y awesome!! You've just given me a craft-ping!

Really cute card Judy. How nice that you could incorporate memories from your Hawaiian vacation. I spotted only one sea turtle when we were in Hawaii in December.
ReplyDeleteI knew I would see a "Hawaii" reference with your cue word! LOVE that you got to see some sea turtles while you were here--so lucky--and how you placed the little guy on the base of hexagons. So clever, Judy!
ReplyDeleteThat is one awesome looking turtle! Love the fun colours and the clever sea in the background. I love seeing turtles in the water. We have a few that come around our dock occasionally and I see them sometimes when I'm driving along near the water. No matter how many times it happens it still always gives me a little thrill. They're just so cool!
ReplyDeleteHe is extremely cute, and your addition of hexagons to match the patterns on his shell is so clever. Love the colour graduations. And I turtley love that sentiment! I was thinking of you when I was making this week's card. I was tossing up between a hula dancing chickie digi and a bath chickie digi, and bath time won out. The hula chickie was so cute though!
ReplyDeleteOh, this is so very cute. Love how you did the water and that turtle is darling. We also love to look for the turtles in Hawaii, and are usually rewarded for our efforts.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had an amazing vacation, Judy, the card is so cute!
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs
