CASology #33: Circle
Hello, friends! It's time for another CASology challenge using this week's cue: CIRCLE.
I used a digital image from the Daydreams Designs Store called Chalkboard Love and Sunshine...so easy to do, and fun since chalkboard cards are all the rage right now! I chose to use the color version of the image, but there is also a black and white version in the set.
After I printed the chalkboard image directly onto my white card stock, I masked it with a Post-It, then stamped the background dots and little ribbon border, added the gems, and rounded the corners. (Lots of circles in this card!)
Remember, if you don't want to print directly onto the card, you can also print your digital images onto card stock and then cut them out for mounting on your card. Easy peasy!
I do hope you will play along this week...I can't wait to see what CIRCLES mean to you! Be sure to check out the design team and guest designer cards as well...so much inspiration!

Playing with Paper Smooches
Hello, friends! Happy Sunday to you all!
I just wanted to share a card I made with the Paper Smooches Reflections stamp set I recently purchased. (Now I want the coordinating dies!) I can't get enough of these sentiments...I have always LOVED Kim's font style.
I pulled out a bunch of Hero Arts shadow and chalk inks and went to town!
I hope to have another card using this stamp set posted later in the week. I'm really enjoying this set!
Thanks for stopping by...enjoy the rest of your weekend!

CASology #32: Flame
Hello, friends! It's time for our latest challenge at CASology, where the cue word this week is FLAME. This one may be a little more challenging than last week's cue (RED), but I really look forward to seeing where this cue leads everyone!
My mom just celebrated a big milestone birthday on Valentine's Day, so my mind went to the flames of birthday candles (I wouldn't dare give away her age, but let's just say there were lots of them)!
Materials Used:
Stamp: Rubber Stampede "Make A Wish"
Inks: black, Scattered Straw distress ink, Copic markers, black fine Sharpie marker
Other: Cuttlebug "Rebecca" embossing folder, ultra-fine glitter
I kept this card clean and simple by using only one stamp and lots of open space...however, the dry embossed frame, the hand-drawn border, and the glitter on the flame add some interest. I used warm distress inks and a deep orange card base to mimic the warmth of a flame.
Here is a close-up of the glittered flame...nothing like a little ultra-fine glitter to perk things up!
So, what does FLAME mean to you? I can't wait to see! Be sure to link up your card(s) by 4:00p.m.(CST) Sunday, and check out the cards by our design team and guest designer, too!
Thanks for stopping by!

Just for Fun
Hello, friends! Just stopping by to share a few cards I made just for the fun of it.
I found this really cute stamp at Joann's in the $1 bin (Studio112). I wanted to see how it would look if I embossed and colored it three different ways. I embossed the image on watercolor paper using white, gold, and black embossing powders, then colored in each of the images the same way using Copics and a Marvy marker. Here they are together:
Here are the cards I made with each of them using various Hero Arts background stamps and a sentiment from the Just Find Me set. I added some bling to the flower centers for a little interest.
Here they are individually...
It's nice to just play for the fun of it sometimes, isn't it?
Thanks for stopping by!

CASology #31: Red
Hello, friends! Welcome back for a new CASology weekly challenge...this week our cue is RED. Just in time for Valentine's Day!
This week's sponsor is 2 Cute Ink and, boy, do they have some cute stamps (both rubber and digital images)! I couldn't resist this sweet digi image called "Panda Love"... perfect for a Valentine's Day card if you ask me!
Materials Used:
Inks: black dye ink, Copic markers
Other: Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Eight, patterned paper (heart)
This card will be going to my hubby, my high school sweetheart...we just realized this will be our 25th Valentine's Day together! I still have the first Valentine's Day card he ever gave me, right near my locker during our senior year of high school. (Ah, memories!)
I hope you can play along this week; be sure to link up your card by 4:00 (CST) on Sunday. Be sure to check out the inspiring cards by the design team, too!

Hero Arts Love Always
Hello, friends! I'm here today with another card I made for the current Hero Arts February contest challenge.
I know the colors aren't your typical "love" card colors, but I think it has a classic feel to it. My card has both love and lace! I embossed the wild flowers using black embossing powder.
Materials Used:
Stamps: Hero Arts: (K5404) Wild Flowers, (S5319) Circle Lace, (CL272) All Occasion Messages
Inks: Hero Arts Wet Cement mid tone ink, black ink
Thanks for stopping by!

Hero Arts Love and Big Eyes
Hello, friends! Well, the snow they predicted in our area did not amount to much...at least not here in New Jersey. Here is the view I had outside my front door this morning...the grass and trees had a nice coating, but the roads were just wet (unlike the states north of here that are experiencing blizzard conditions...my thoughts are with them!)
Today, in between sons' soccer practices, daughter's gymnastics class, daughter's hair cut, entire family's laundry, and other usual Saturday duties, I was able to make a card for the current Hero Arts February Contest following the theme of love and lace. (I went with love for this card.)
I have had this Valentine card idea in my head for a while...Big Eyes perched on a Valentine's Day pencil. What do you think?
Materials Used:
Stamps: Hero Arts (K5574) Big Eyes, (CG422) Zig Zag, (CL498) Celebrate Everyday
Inks: Hero Arts Punch chalk ink
Other: Hero Arts Sunshine Mixed Accents, Martha Stewart paper tape
This is a standard size card, and after I made it I realized it will obviously NEVER fit in an envelope. (Doh!) I don't care, though...I still like it!
I fussy cut the owl, made two slits for the pencil to slide through, and popped it up with pop dots. I also fussy cut the bottom edge so the white inside the card would show through.
Thanks for stopping by...enjoy your day!

CASology #30: Fairytale
Hello, friends! It's Tuesday, which means a new CASology challenge...this week's cue is a fun one!
My mind went all over the place with this cue...that's why I eventually made TWO cards. (Such indecision!)
I first thought princesses, which led me eventually to my first card:
I also thought of all the classic fairy tales my kids used to beg me to read every night before bed...which led to this next card (hopefully you get the reference!):
(SIDE NOTE: One of our all-time favorite parodies on a classic fairy tale is THIS book...a great gift for little kids with a good sense of humor!)
What does the cue word mean to you? I hope you'll play along so we can find out! Be sure to link up your entries by Sunday 4:00 (CST) and check out the inspiring cards by our design team, too!

Happy Birthday Hexagons
Hello friends, and happy Friday! I'm dropping by with a card I made using up some patterned paper scraps and supplies. I'm entering this in the current Simon Says Stamp! Anything Goes Challenge.
Funny thing...I laughed at myself when arranging the hexagons. I could NOT bring myself to make any of them asymmetrical, I had to follow a definite pattern! What can I say, I am who I am. :)
SIDE BAR...Anyone interetsed in the Super Bowl game this Sunday? I really don't watch a lot of football, but I happen to work at the high school where Joe Flacco (quarterback of the Baltimore Ravens) attended, so I couldn't resist being pulled into all the excitement! Even though our school's colors are green and gold, the halls are lined in purple streamers and balloons and signs...a very festive atmosphere! Go Ravens and good luck to Joe and the team this Sunday!
Thanks so much for stopping by, it is greatly appreciated!
