Butterfly Wishes Card Set

Hello, friends!  I'm here today to share a set of cards I made during this rainy week!

I'm entering these cards in four current challenges:

(1)  City Crafter Challenge Week #422: Butterflies -- this is my first time playing along at this challenge and I'm so glad I found it!

(2)  The Paper Players #402 - A Clean and Simple Challenge from Nance -- we are challenged to use negative space on our cards.  I used the negative space made by my die-cut butterflies on colored card bases.

(3)  Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes!  (I love Anything Goes!)

(4)  Addicted to Stamps and More #302 - Make Your Mark -- I made my mark with a bold sentiment stamped in black!

I wanted to have a variety of birthday cards in my stash, but I really loved this specific design.  I decided to make a set of cards using the same design but in several different colors.

For each card, I die cut a white panel using the WPlus9 "Sunshine Layers" die, then stamped the WPlus9 "Happy Wishes" sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Next, I die cut the Simon Says Stamp "Paulina" butterfly outline on the white die cut panel, then layered it onto a colored card base so the color showed through.  I added a white die cut Simon Says Stamp "Leanna" butterfly die over the open butterfly, attaching it with glue only at the center and finished it with a matching enamel dot.

Here are the individual cards:

I am really happy with how these turned out!  I'm also happy to have a set of birthday cards on hand in a variety of colors.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Muse #276

Hello, friends!  We are having lots of rainy days this week, so I have some time inside to craft and blog.  Today I'm sharing  some cards for the current Muse #276 challenge using this sweet card from Guest Muse Bharati Nayudu:

I loved the black and white washi down the left side as well as the pretty stenciled background behind the main image and sentiment.  I also love the colors Bharati used! That's what inspired my cards, and I made two versions.

Both of my cards feature a sentiment from Winnie & Walter (The Big, the Bold, and You) and a sweet image from Christina Hor Designs.  My first card used black and white washi down the side and yellow stenciling in the background. I tried to incorporate various colors into the dress, flowers, and sentiment:

My second card used silver sparkly washi down the side border and pink/peach background stenciling:

I appreciate your visit today.
Take good care!

Sweet Wonderful You

Hello, friends!  I'm here today to share a card for two current challenges:

(1) Addicted to CAS Challenge #141: Summertime -- I always associate popsicles with summertime!

(2)  Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Use a Die and/or Punch -- I used a popsicle die as well as a border die on my card.

For my card, I die cut the popsicle using the Reverse Confetti "Let's Chill" Confetti Cut and paired it with a sentiment from the retired Hero Arts "Sweet Wonderful You" set.  I used two tones of orange card stock for the popsicles to create depth, and I dry embossed them for some texture.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Take good care,
Judy

Muse: ChristmasVisions #104

Hello, friends!  Thanks to a sweet invitation on Instagram by design team member Cornelia to play along, I am joining in the current  Muse: ChristmasVisions #104 challenge using this sweet card by Kimberly as the inspiration card:

I was inspired by the main image in the foreground while the background images and distress inks add interest and depth.  I tried to achieve the same thing with my card, as I embossed the reindeer in the foreground and masked the moon, then inked the sky with distress ink to provide a sense of depth in the background.

All stamps by Hero Arts.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Take good care,
Judy

ATSAM & Inkspirational: Birthday

Hello, friends!  I'm here today with a birthday card for two current challenges:

(1) Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #300 - Happy Birthday!  Congratulations to ATSAM as they celebrate their 6th birthday and 300th challenge!  What an amazing accomplishment and I wish them continued success!  I was inspired by the colors in the photo inspiration for my card.

(2) Inkspirational Challenge #165: Word Prompt: Birthday

My card is a clean and simple birthday card design with a little bit of dimension.  First, I stamped the flowers and sentiment on the die cut card base.  Next, I die cut the fence and stamped a subtle wood grain pattern on it.  Once done, I mounted it on a die cut foam base to add some depth.  Once glued on the card, I hand drew the grass using a Copic marker. The butterflies are punched from glitter paper.

Supplied Used:
Stamps: Hero Arts (Native Grass, Woodgrain), WPlus9 (Strictly Sentiments 1)
Inks: Memento (Tuxedo Black), Marvy markers, Copic markers
Dies: PTI (Picket Fence), WPlus9 (Sunshine Layers), Martha Stewart (3-in-1 Butterfly)

I am always in need of birthday cards in my stash, and I am on a mission this summer to make lots of them!  This was just the push I needed to get started.

Have a great day,
Judy

Today Is Your Day

Hello, friends! It is sweltering hot today so I stole a few minutes in the air conditioning in between carpooling kids to/from work to share a card I made for several current challenges:

(1) CAS on Friday: Challenge #136 Splash - Watercolor

(2) Addicted to CAS Challenge #139 - Girl Power

(3) Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes

These challenges fit perfectly together for me...and I love it when that happens!  I made a one-layer clean and simple card, and then went on to make an entire set of them because I liked it so much!

Here is my card for the challenges:

I stamped this sweet Unity image (Your Wings Exist) and sentiment (Margaret Girl) onto watercolor paper, then watercolored with Tim Holtz distress inks.  Finally, I splattered a little bit of green watercolor for some extra interest.

See how simple that was? It took no time at all. That's why I went back and made some more, changing up the colors and swapping out the sentiment (from WPlus9 Strictly Sentiments 5) for two of them.

Here are the others in the set:

 Here they are all together:

Finally, here they are by sentiment:

I'm sending all of these cards in for the ongoing Cards for Little Hearts card drive, which collects general themed cards from January through November.  If you haven't heard of it, check out the website for more information.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by!
