Hello, friends! Just stopping by today with a card I made for the current Less Is More Week 52 challenge using this sketch:
I recently ordered the "Vintage Christmas" stamp set from Jane's Doodles and I have a new obsession with this snowman image! Leave it to me to get a Christmas stamp set in the end of January...but I HAD to have it after seeing such sweet cards made with this set over the holidays. I think what I like the most -- other than the cute country feel to this snowman -- is the fun paper piecing you can do with his hat and scarf. I have stamped almost 15 scarves and hats onto patterned paper and cut them out to have on hand...putting them together reminds me of playing with paper dolls when I was a girl!
I digress. Here is the one layer card I made based on the above sketch. I stamped the snowman, then masked the sides with large Post-Its and inked with Soft Pool and Antique Linen inks. I paper pieced the hat and scarf; the sentiment is from Paper Smooches.
I have to take a minute to say CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU to Chrissie and Mandi at Less Is More. They are celebrating one year of challenges and I have participated in many of them (although certainly not as many as some other very talented ladies out there!). I love their themes, I am inspired by their work, and I am in awe of the amount of positive feedback they share each week with all entrants. WAY TO GO, LADIES!!! I look forward to a second year of crafty inspiration and fun!
Have a great day,
Judy

Judy, this is ADORABLE! I absolutely love what you did with this sketch.. brilliant. And I never thought about it before, but you are so right - paper piecing is a LOT like playing with paperdolls! One of my fave activities as a kid.. go figure. :) That's a great idea to stamp/cut out so many in advance.. a good way to get a head start on next year's Christmas cards! (wait, did i just say that?! LOL)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I had no idea you had 4 kids - 2 boys and two girls! So do I! :) Have a great week!
