This is a sign I have seen every day for several weeks as I drive to work...hard to believe it is finally here! (The sign also noted that the Ben Franklin Bridge would be closed all weekend...this road leads to the bridge into Philadelphia). Don't worry, I did not take the picture while driving, I had my son take it from the passenger seat!
Due to all the excitement this weekend, I will likely not be doing a whole lot of blogging. However, I had to stop by with a card I made for the current Muse Challenge #134 with this lovely inspiration from Anita Bowden. Isn't this just perfection?
My card was inspired by Anita's colors and layout...I used soft pastel pink, blue and green paired with a black die cut sentiment over die cut "threads." Instead of circles in the background, I used lines.
I always love a flat card that is easy to mail!
Supplies Used:
Simon Says Stamp "Thanks" die
MFT "LJD Circle Scribble Flowers" die
DCWV glitter papers
OK, off to watch Papal events as they unfold! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Judy
Love your use of Anita's inspiration Judy!
ReplyDeleteThis is fab, Judy. I love how you've changed up the circles for stripes and still kept it gentle with the pastels. I think I need to add the die cut 'threads' to my stash too, looks wonderful. Thanks so much for finding the time during your busy weekend to play along at Muse this week, Anita x

ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Judy! I love how you've interpreted it! I hope your daughter has a great time - it's so cool to be part of an event like that! Thanks so much for joining us at Muse this week!
ReplyDeleteYour pastel striped card looks beautiful with the shimmering word die cut and the scribble flower die cut!
ReplyDeleteI also saw the Pope in my youth when he was in Munich! Very memorable event! So happy your daughter can be part of this!
Oh Judy, how special for your daughter!! We've been watching all of the events too, he's wonderful isn't he!! Your card is delightful, I like the stripes!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your card and WISH I knew you lived in Philadelphia. We just flew through there on our way home from Rome. Everyone informed us that the Pope was in the U.S. Isn't that FUNNY?
ReplyDeleteLove you went with the lines, a really fab take on Anita's card. An exciting time there, hope your daughter got to see the Pope. I was in Rome a few weeks ago and saw him on the Sunday. We were there in St. Peter's square to hear him do the special Sunday blessing. Amazing...also saw did a tour of the Vattican, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's! Sorry for going on!!
ReplyDeleteREally great, Judy! Also wish I was there!
