This week my four kids return to school and I return to work after a wonderful summer off. We are always sorry to see it end, mainly because we like sleeping later, taking vacations, and generally going at a slower pace than we do during the very busy school year. I'm disappointed that I didn't finish all the projects on my to-do list, but I have noticed a pattern -- I never finish what is on that list -- and I have concluded I put too many things on the list in the first place. I need to stop doing that -- then maybe one of these days I'll feel a sense of accomplishment when summer ends! :)
The cue card this week represents something we will all be doing more of now that school has resumed...we have all sharpened our #2 pencils and are ready to go!
That's what inspired my card, using the new "School Days" stamp set from Precious Remembrance Shop. I thought the background embossed with apples was fitting for a school-themed card!
I used a Sakura jelly roll glitter pen to add some highlights to the letters and numbers...adds a bit of dimension to an otherwise flat design, doesn't it?
I am planning on sending cards to my nieces and nephews as they begin some major school milestones this month -- two are going off to kindergarten, and three are going off to college! (I have seventeen nieces and nephews, so there are lots of "card occasions" in our family!)
Be sure to link up your WRITE card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check them out!
