Hello, friends! It's April 1st, and today we like to celebrate a little tradition called "April Fool's Day." Perfect for this week's cue!
I did a little research and found out that April Fool's Day is actually celebrated in many countries. According to Wikipedia,
April Fools' Day (alternatively
April Fool's Day, sometimes
All Fools' Day) is not a national holiday, but is widely recognized and celebrated in various countries as a day when people play practical jokes and hoaxes on each other (called
April fools).
We
love April Fool's Day in our house, and my darling husband derives
great joy from playing tricks on our kids each year. As they get older, the tricks are becoming more and more involved -- and they are tricking him right back! We've done it all -- rubber snakes in shoes, frozen bowls of cereal, replacing sugar with salt, changing the time on alarm clocks, rubber banding the sink sprayer to the "on" position, then asking for a drink of water...and the list goes on!
Anyway, in the spirit of a good joke, I made this card using a $1 stamp set by
Inkadinkado and a
Hero Arts wood grain background stamp. I will likely give this card to my niece who graduates from high school this year...she has a quirky sense of humor, just like her Aunt Judy!
I kept this card "clean and simple" by using one main image and setting it in the bottom corner of the card so that lots of empty "white" space remained.
So, what does JOKE bring to mind for you? I can't wait to see! Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!
Thanks for visiting,
Judy
