I have a confession to make. My third "blogaversary" was on New Year's Day and I couldn't think of one card to make. Not one. No mojo whatsoever.
This seems to happen to me every year at Christmas. Does this ever happen to you? I usually get lots of fun crafty items from my DH (that I have been keeping on a wish list for months), and I'm beginning to think it is too much all at once. Too many new toys, I don't know where to start! So I stare at them. And nothing happens. For days.
It's so funny. When these items (mainly stamps, inks, and dies) were added to my wish list, I HAD to have them! I had SO many ideas of what to do with them when I finally had those hot little numbers in hand!
I want to share some pics of the fun items I got...and maybe someday when the "pressure to make" is off, I'll actually break into them and start having fun. (I do hope so!)
I love these Hero Arts inks and the Jane's Doodles sentiments!
I've been patiently waiting for these fun stamps and die sets from Simon Says Stamp!
I also received a Copics cube (holder) from my DH as a birthday gift. So nice to have them organized...although I'm a bit embarrassed to show off my SMALL collection to you! (Yes, that is all of them!)
My sister-in-law gave me some fun gems for my birthday...can't wait to break into them! I also love this stamp and die set from Papertrey Ink.
The only cards I made at all over vacation were actually half store-bought, half stamped. I love the dollar bins at the local craft store (in my case, the dollar bins at Michael's)...that's where I found these nice quality blank thank you card packs. Not bad for a dollar...and my Papertrey Ink wreath stamp fit perfectly on them. So, I made a set of thank you notes for all the lovely birthday and Christmas gifts I received.
I am hopeful that once we get back into the regular routine I'll get my mojo back and all will be well. Of course, our routine just went out the window as today, after only one day back to school and work, we had a snow day!
I wish you all the very best in 2014...and I thank you all for stopping by and taking the time to visit my blog...I do appreciate your visits!
Judy
Happy New Year Judy!! Thanks for sharing the fun pics of your crafty toys! Looking forward to see what you create with them. Love your idea of stamping on those plain thank you card!
ReplyDeleteOooooo! New craft goodies! Sounds like Christmas was a good one for you and your family. And it's not cheating...it's enhancing! Love those little cards, they're very sweet. Happy New Year. Bev
ReplyDeleteThat happens to me every year too, Judy. I think, for me, it's making all those Christmas cards. Then, when the holiday is over, it takes me a week or two to feel the mojo again.
ReplyDeleteLove all your fab gifts and can't wait to see what you create with them! Hugs to you and Happy New Year!! ♥
happy new year, judy!! santa definitely brought you lots of yummy new toys... those thank you notes are so pretty! your mojo will return in short order. i will miss being on the CASology team with you, but i will definitely be playing along with the challenges!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year. I am so looking forward to getting to know you better on CASology. In the mean time, I am admiring all of your crafty gifts--you are clearly very loved. I have seen enough of your blog to know that your mojo is never too far away, even when it appears to be hiding.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this post, FUN stuffs!! Thanks so much for the WONDERFUL and lovely Christmas card Judy, really want to know what stamps you used LOL (no seriously the card ROCKS and I may want to use it for a card class if it is okay with you.) It looks FUN and pretty fun looking to recreate !!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for being so GREAT!
Hugz Kimberly
Happy New Year, dear Judy! And wowzers to all your goodies from Santa--you so deserve them all! Here's to another amazing, crafty year!
ReplyDeleteOh, girl, I hear you on the excess of goods stunting the mojo! I have the same problem! I tend to buy in large batches - it's cheaper to ship a bunch of stuff all at once than one thing here or there. It's so exciting when a big package arrives but it's like it short circuits my brain or something because I promptly freeze up. *Sigh* First world problems…
ReplyDeleteAnyway once you get going again I know you'll have a ball with your new goodies. I finally broke out my new HA inks for my CASology card this week and I love them!
Oh my! Hello, smarty-pants (you are not the only one-LOL)!! Your card set is GORGEOUS!! I was going to use mine for Christmas thank-you notes, but I didn't get around to it! Thanks for linking up yours! Wish you all the best in 2014!
