CASology #76: PARTY (Two Week Challenge)

Hello, friends!  It's Tuesday, it's Christmas Eve, and there is a new cue word at CASology!  This cue will last for two weeks due to the Christmas holidays, so you have plenty of time to get crafty and play along!

It's time to PARTY!!!

Our challenge is being sponsored by STAMPlorations...be sure to check out their blog HERE and check out their sweet line of rubber and clear stamps!

When I think PARTY at this time of year, I think of New Year's Eve!  We actually have several family birthday parties thrown in the holiday vacation mix as well, but we typically go to a New Year's Eve party with several other families (all friends through our kids' school).  I made this card for the family who host the party!

All stamps by Sweet Stamp Shop

I traced the Nestabilities Labels 8 die with a Sakura Stardust glitter pen, and also colored in the champagne glass with it, adding extra bubbles up the card.  I also traced the "Cheers" sentiment with the glitter pen.  It compliments the glitter card base so nicely!  You can see the shine better on a different angle...see?

I am also linking my card up to CAS-ual Fridays Challenge and the last 10-Minute Craft Dash since my card is a New Year's card and I made it in 9 minutes and 12 seconds!

I can't wait to see what this cue brings to mind for you.  Link up your CASology project by Sunday 4:00 p.m. Sunday, and be inspired by the projects of our amazing Guest Designer and Design Team, too!  Let's PARTY!

CASology #75: KNIT

Hello, friends!  I can't believe it is the 75th cue word at CASology...and it's my 75th time playing along with the cue word!  Time flies when you are having fun, that's for sure!  I think you are going to have fun with this cue, too!

I must admit, this one had me stumped!  I don't own many stamps that have anything to do with sewing or knitting or sweaters...so I went with a Christmas sticker set that included sweet little mittens (and a patterned paper with stitch lines through it)!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Sweet Stamp Shop "Speedy Greetings"
Ink: Grass chalk ink
Other: PTI "merry" die, patterned paper, floss,  Lil' Inkers "Stitched Rectangles" die, diamond Stickles, mitten sticker by American Greetings

I can't wait to see what this cue brings to mind for you.  Link up your project by Sunday 4:00 p.m. Sunday, and be inspired by the projects of our amazing Guest Designer and Design Team, too!

I'll leave you today with some extra inspiration...look at this cute knit hat my daughter loves to wear! (Thank goodness she has it, we have had snow three times in two weeks!)

CASology #74: SNOWFLAKE

Hello, friends!  After weeks of shopping and ribbon, we are stopping by today with our next CASology cue!  I have a feeling this week is going to be a popular one!

This week we are sponsored by Serendipity Stamps...check out their blog and their great shop, too!

We had a few unexpected snowflakes the other day...the news forecasted some sleet, but we wound up with almost 10 inches of the white stuff!  (Surprise!)  My two youngest couldn't wait to get outside to play -- after I dug around in the attic for the bag of snow pants and boots, hoping they would find something that fit!  My DH went out to shovel, then he played a bit, too...he's always game for a snowball fight!

OK, now on to my snowflake card!  I had so many ideas for this week's cue, but in the end I went with some less-traditional snowflake card colors...I love the sparkly navy blue against kraft!

Materials Used:
Stamps: Hero Arts "Very Merry Christmas," "Snowflake Rosette"
Inks: Navy dye ink
Other:  Navy sparkle embossing powder, scallop circle punch,
Cuttlebug "Snowflakes" embossing folder, clear gem

I can't wait to see what this cue brings to mind for you.  Link up your project by Sunday 4:00 p.m. Sunday, and be inspired by the projects of our amazing Guest Designer and Design Team, too!

Curtain Call: Thanks...Peace Out!

Hello, friends!  I am just stopping by again with a few more cards using this awesome Santa Peace image from Jane's Doodles.  I think I am in love!  (Is that too weird?)

This time I made three different thank you cards (using my own computer-generated sentiment).  I printed the image and sentiment and colored with Copics, then die cut with Stitched Rectangles and mounted on cards.  I think the glitter on the fur and the Glossy Accents on his glasses are just the right touch!

We always send thank you notes to family and friends who give us such generous gifts each year...I hope they get a kick out of these!

I'm entering these into the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Christmas Countdown.  Check it out, some amazing entries over there!

Thanks for stopping by...peace out!

CASology #73: RIBBON

Hello, friends!  I'm stopping by with a new CASology cue word!

This week we are sponsored by Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps...do check out their lovely line of clear and red rubber stamps and dies HERE!

I actually made two cards for this cue...I need more Christmas cards for my stash, so I figured why not?  My first card uses ribbon as a scarf...

All stamps by Hero Arts and Paper Smooches

My second card uses ribbon as an ornament decoration...

All stamps by Hero Arts

I can't wait to see what RIBBON brings to mind for you.  Link up your project by Sunday at 4:00 p.m., and be inspired by the projects of our amazing Guest Designer and Design Team, too!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Christmas Countdown

Hello, friends!  I am here today with some cards I made for the current Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge.  It is actually my first time playing in this challenge, and I was drawn to it based on the awesome cards and projects the Design Team shared this week  Wow...they are all amazing!

I recently bought a very quirky, fun Santa digital stamp called Santa Peace from Jane's Doodles and have had a ton of fun playing with it!

I personalized several cards for my co-workers (we are on a Child Study Team working with special education students) and I think they will appreciate the personalized messages!  Apparently Santa has been watching them at work as he counts the days until Christmas.

I know I will have more cards to share using this awesome digital image...I think I want to use it to make my after-Christmas-thank-you cards this year, too!

Be sure to check out the Curtain Call Design Team cards, they are SO inspiring!
Thanks for stopping by!

CASology #72: SHOP

Hello, friends!  It's Tuesday, which brings another cue for the week at CASology.  I think you're going to like this one!

This week we are sponsored by one of my favorite stamp companies, Sweet Stamp Shop!  You can check out their blog HERE and their shop HERE.  They have the cutest line of stamps as well as some very fun flair...check it out!

So, I saw this cue and first thought of all the Christmas shopping I need to do!  Here in the U.S. we are preparing to celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday, and the next day is referred to as "Black Friday." It used to be that the Christmas shopping season got underway the day after Thanksgiving, however I have been seeing Christmas commercials and decorations in stores since Halloween!  (Ugh.  You have no idea how much that disgusts me!  Too, too commercial...that's not what it's about, people!  But, I digress!)

After the thought of Christmas shopping, I thought of the many family birthdays we celebrate in the month of December.  (I have lots of birthday present shopping to do!)  This card is going to my SIL who celebrates a birthday right before Christmas (note it is not Christmas colors...no combo card for her!).  I colored the gifts but paper-pieced the dress, and then added ultra fine glitter to some of the gifts for fun!  I ran a warm gray Copic marker down the right side of the entire image to give the effect of dimension (looks like a shadow) and adds just the right finishing touch.  Nothing is popped up on this card!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Hero Arts "For You Gifts," sentiment by Endless Creations
Inks: black dye ink, Copic markers
Other: MME Lime Twist "Life of the Party" patterned paper, Cuttlebug "Tiffany" embossing folder, ultra fine glitter

So, what does the cue word mean to you this week?  I can't wait to see!  Be sure to link up your card by 4:00 p.m. Sunday.  Check out the inspiring cards by our amazingly talented Guest Designer and our super creative Design Team, too!  (You'll be amazed at the different directions in which we took this cue!)

CASology #71: BELL

Hello, friends!  What a great week we had at CASology last week...what amazing triangle creations you all came up with!  I am super excited to see where you go with this week's new cue word:

My mind raced when I saw this cue!  School bells...dinner bells...wedding bells...hand bells...Christmas bells...floral bells...SO many possibilities!  However, my stash did not include any of the above, with the exception of an old, small wedding bell stamp by Hero Arts.  I decided to convert it to Christmas bells and here is the result:

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Hero Arts "Wedding Celebration," "Very Merry Christmas"
Inks: black dye ink, cranberry dye ink, red and green Copic markers
Other: Glossy Accents, gold Stickles, Cuttlebug "Pinking Stitch" embossing folder

I know the bells are small, but the larger sentiment makes up for it.  I love adding Glossy Accents and Stickles to small images, too, because it helps "beef up" the image.  I fussy cut the bells and popped them up for some extra dimension.

While I was at it, I made another card.  I plan to send these Christmas cards in to the Caring Hearts Card Drive (see details HERE -- the deadline is fast approaching!).

I am also entering both cards in the current Hero Arts Holiday Challenge in the category of "A Few of My Favorite Things" since I used my Hero Arts stamps and some favorite stamping techniques (including coloring, fussy cutting and dry embossing).

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Hero Arts "Wedding Celebration," "Very Merry Christmas"
Inks: black dye ink, green and red Copic markers
Other: Sizzix/Hero Arts "Flourishes 3" embossing folder, Glossy Accents, gold Stickles, Spellbinders Nestabilities circle, corner rounder, floss

So here we go...bring on the bells!  Be sure to link up your project at the CASology blog by 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.  Check out our amazing Guest Designer and the Design Team creations, too...you are sure to be inspired!
